That was completely different.
The final shot is what got the pharmacist convicted and the final shot in this case is the problematic one.
The facts are similar imo.

Funny how trained cops are allowed to empty mags into a suspect, but a civilian in self defense is supposed to back off after the suspect is down.
It's total hypocrisy.

Ersland walk back into the building, step over the body of the unconscious Parker and walk towards another drawer where he retrieved a second handgun. The video shows Ersland lean over Parker’s body and fire six more shots into the teenager.
You are citing a case where there are no similarities to this one beyond guns and dead people.

They are pretty different, but the next thing they’ll have in common will be grand jury proceedings.

However, if it comes out the weapon was not an actual firearm, it will be another tough road to argue against at trial.
The last few shots will most probably be viewed as excessive.
Hopefully dude can get some film of the Sherriff in Polk County FL saying you can shoot evil enough.

That dude has definitely killed before

I think he's okay here too. It doesn't matter if the gun is fake if the victim believed it was real.

Excessive shots in an armed assault leading to self defense should be a misdemeanor
If the first shots that are deadly are protected, “excessive” charges are too harsh. Police get protection here and they are trained, why can’t citizens?

The dude was probably good until the last shot after he took the gun. That was basically a frick you execution shot at that point.

I hope nothing happens to the guy but I sure wouldn't want to face a jury of my "peers" for that in BR
You’re fricked if you’re relying on a dozen dumbasses from Baton Rouge to decide your fate.

Glad fat man in corner didn’t get hit. Looks like he was in line of sight of shooting.

Be interesting to see what happens, he fired 5 more shots at close range after gun flew out of the suspects hand. One of those was execution style.
Not that the guy didn't deserve it...just not self defense at that point.
Only a moron would down vote your correct and reasonable post.
That dude will end up pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Good luck bringing this case against a Hispanic dude in Harris county

You can say all the ignorant shite you want on the internet. I'm not mad at you.
If I'm him, I'm already in Mexico.
His only chance is an activist on the jury, and I wouldn't trust that a JNOV wouldn't happen if I got lucky with the jury.
You can't murder people on camera after defending yourself.
I'm team good guy too, but he's an idiot.

The similarities are the excessive shots, dude.
How do you not see this?
This case the issue is the last 2 shots which could be characterized as excessive.
