Most of my liberal social group is loving this whole speaker drama because the national media has declared it an “embarrassment” and that is as far as they think into it.

But they don’t see the truth: this is proof that their worst nightmare isn’t going anywhere.

Both Dems and the GOP structure were hoping to end MAGA in 2024, either by smoothering it with a pillow during the primaries or by having Trump “win” the nomination after a ton of mudslinging that ensured he would lose to Joe in a rematch in November. Done deal MAGA is dead and the “adults” get to run the country again.

This whole event proves they were wrong. MAGA isn’t going anywhere. Even if Trump loses in 2024, someone else will take up the mantle. Even if “The Republicans” lose an election (or not win according to expectations) they will still not bend to business as usual. Those resisting today will be the Fox News talking heads of tomorrow directing policy.

Liberals keep expecting Republicans to say “enough! I give up this is too embarrassing” when they should realize at this moment that such forms of social control as lost as levers going forward forever.

They celebrate and laugh but they should be terrified. The way the Electoral College or Senate is structured isn’t changing anytime in my lifetime.

I don't get why people are saying this is bad or embarrassing. What's bad and embarrassing about not rubber stamping a nominee?

I love this. Anything besides business as usual in DC. Soon the establishment will completely out themselves and show the uniparty reigns supreme

Democrats and Leftists' worst nightmare isn't a GOP-led Congress being hijacked and neutered. Trust me.

MAGA is McCarthy. Just ask Trump, MTG, Clay Higgins, etc.

Agree, nothing is going to change for the next two years with potato and veto power. Burn it all down in the meantime.

Giving the DEMs everything in 2024?

How does that help you?

Because the leftist are political thinkers only.
There is no dissent amongst political zombies.
They all agree on their endgame and a major part of that is the destruction of the constitution and ultimately the country.
Granted the republicans are weak, spineless political jellyfish; however there was rarely a time when they were goose-stepping, monolithic ideologues. The RINOs are that presently.

I hope these 20 continue to wreck sht in the party. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt in lieu of a third party.

Not enough MAGA. MAGA's job is to ensure the politicians they support stay MAGA strong including Trump.

GOP doesn’t control Congress, just the House. And there is really nothing they can do to change thing significantly from that position. It’s the perfect time for MAGA to show they aren’t going anywhere.

If anything Dems probably hope to hang the US having its credit rating dropped again on Republicans, but the public at large doesn’t get this nuance Biden will catch the blame.

It's not, that Narrative is coming from The Administrative State, The Pravda Media and The Useful Idiots.
What is happening is very important in advancing The Freedom Football and it's working.

What the left doesn’t get is the moment that the right doesn’t believe in American exceptionalism anymore is the moment the entire system can come down. These events are the proof of that, the opinions of this board are proof of that.

SO much of our society and political structure isn’t written laws, it is traditions and ceremonies (sometimes in contradiction of written laws). It’s a shared delusion not some magic formula for success.

You lose even 25% of the country from wanting to play by the rules anymore and that is how you get a US version of “The Troubles” (something I completely expected within 20 years now).

And once it gets violent enough people will turn to whatever the Conservative Party is at that time to end it.

... because the news tells them to feel that way b/c they want rinos in power. they think it's the only way. they think principles are useless and there is only beating "democrats."

I actually think it is great! Fight it out and get the RIGHT deal done.
The DEMS all vote yes, and look where that got us!

So. You are actually admitting that guys who support America First don't actually agree with all of the former president's opinions? This is refreshing and I think we are making progress. All this time, I thought I was in a mindless cult from what this very board's accusations.

Also frankly it is giving everyone a civics lesson. Between this an 2020 election now every CNN viewer knows 20x more how their government works than they did before. It’s like the government class they should have gotten in high school if that wasn’t the class the “coach” technically taught to stay within state laws.

No. I'm saying they're not America First or MAGA, anymore.

No you're in an echo chamber repeating NPC talking points. Nobody has ever said that echo chamber was intellectually consistent.

Hence the morphing from GWB stans to the Tea Party to Michelle Bauchmann to Hillary ( via her birtherism) to Trump to now...whatever the hell this cosplay is.

It's been quite a ride to watch people try to pretend they're intellectually consistent while joining all the cool kids clubs as they emerged

It's the opposite.

Embarrassment is a country where no dissent is allowed and all decisions are a scripted forgone conclusion.

Same here. One may, or may not, agree with what's going on. However, this type of robust debate is what's missing in our Congress.
