Who are they going to pay not to show up?
Believe 3 are not already there today (one was absent earlier today but voted in the last 2 after having surgery today).
Another 4 I think have family issues they previously stated they needed to attend. That would mean 428 that don’t have prior reason to leave. Also, I can see a few more Dems ditching town cause their votes are meaningless.
No need to pay anyone off to leave, they are already paid to be pieces of shite

David Trone (D-MD) was the medical appointment. He made it back for the most recent round (#13).
Ken Buck (R-CO) is the member who lost his mother. Apparently he’s in Colorado now, and the funeral is scheduled for “this weekend.” I’ll be surprised if he returns.
Wesley Hunt (R-TX) is in Texas after his wife gave birth yesterday. Assuming there are no complications with Mom and/or baby, he’ll likely be in DC this evening.
Even if the above two congressmen don’t return tonight, I think this adjournment is just as much about an opportunity for continued negotiations as it’s for buying travel time. McCarthy and his ilk are probably ordering in from Ocean Prime as we speak.

I am listening to callers into C-Span. Americans need educated that big tech owns us and Gaetz isn't being a minority or petty.
Caller wants Harriet Hagman as Speaker.
Lady said it is hard to get through calling DC.
C-Span saying Gaetz confirming Kevin has the votes and Gaetz saying things are better than they were.

People are calling in C-Span that fell for the fake news that Gaetz said he would resign or vote for Jeffries before Kevin-- if Kevin won.
Propaganda wins again.
Propaganda wins again.

Somebody wealthy or Kevin/Frank can't send a private jet for the guy in Colorado to vote then leave? They could send him underground easily via Colorados bunker quickly.
Then the army take him home or he can call an uber?

Well this was pathetically predictable that these people would bend the knee eventually.

Uni-Party snipers picking them all off one at a time.
In a war of attrition (aided by FNC and Hannity's bulldogging Praetorian propaganda BULLSH*T), the Swamp knows they can afford to be patient.
NOTHING to see here (except the ashes to the last pages of the USCON up in smoke should KM sit on the throne.)

In guerrilla warfare, you have to strike and disappear.
Sometimes with almost nothing to show for it.

The House of Representatives has adjourned until 10pm tonight, when another vote will be taken, as outlined by the design of the Kevin McCarthy supporters.
Why adjourn? Why return at 10:00pm on a Friday evening? Simply, because the McCarthy team is counting on several House members (mostly Democrats) not being in attendance for the quorum, facilitating a lower threshold of the vote to achieve a majority.
435/434 members present = 218 votes needed
433/432 members present = 217 votes needed
431/430 members present = 216 votes needed
429/428 members present = 215 votes needed
etc.
CNN confirming with McCarthy directly he says he has the votes.

Correct. (unfortunately)
In a normal scenario (as in Bastogne) there's also the hope of using whatever dwindling resources to hold off the main force -- UNTIL reserves and other help can arrive. And then there is always the chance that they're gonna die on that hill without...relief.
The Original Magnificent 20 are bleeding, taking on inevitable casualties. Is any relief coming? Or will the battle rage until all combatants are dead?
This is our...Bastogne.

Hopefully they can keep this going on for a year.

Yes and No.
They needed back up and relief.
Why couldn't the big bad Orange Bastard weigh back in and give his moral support??
The guy couldn't even die on his own MAGA Hill with his own core platoon.
Pffft

I just watched clips of those folks flipping votes. Chip Roy especially looks pissed. It's obvious that he's changing against his will

Will look for the new thread tonight after you start it with the C-Span link. See ya then.
Chicken must be busy and not realize they have had 13 votes. And no way could there have reasonably been 13 threads.
