not exactly hard to do, that's why gated communities are just for the warm fuzzies

Ya, as a former pizza delivery guy, I rarely called to get in. Hell, when you did call, it was rare anyone answered to let you in anyway. Just follow a car in or wait for someone to leave and go in the wrong way.

Hell, I went through the woods to get around that damn gate in the back of Riverbend off Brightside. Lady was outside watering her yard, I would've been there for a half hour waiting on her since there we only like 5 houses at the time.

goofball
Crime has gone insane in this country over the past 2 years.

It's like the pandemic happened and all of these thugs had to make up for lost time while everyone was staying home.

Thank the Court System & depleted police forces.

Homeowner.

MEDIA RELEASE Detectives investigating vehicle burglary that led to shooting in Prairieville: According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, on Monday January 2, at approximately 10:00p.m., deputies responded to a shooting incident on Oakland Crossing Blvd. in Prairieville. Upon arrival, deputies learned that two male subjects committing a vehicle burglary at a residence were approached by the homeowners. As the suspect vehicle fled the scene, at least of one of the suspects fired multiple gunshots, grazing one of the homeowners. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and transported herself to an area hospital for treatment. During their investigation, detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit received information that identified the suspect vehicle as a newer model compact black SUV. Detectives believe this vehicle and the suspects are linked to a string of vehicle burglaries that have occurred in Oakland Crossing and neighboring subdivisions. Anyone with information that can assist detectives is urged to call the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office anonymously at 225-621-4636 or by texting 847411 to our anonymous tip line from any cellular device or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-STOP (7867). You must call Capital Region Crime Stoppers to receive a cash reward.

Honestly this is a great case for gated communities. If they don't stop the perps from roaming around, they will at least record license plates going in and out.

There are quite a few non-gated neighborhoods in Baton Rouge Metro that have cameras. For all the hate that HOA's receive, the push for, installation, and maintenance of entrance/exit cameras is the main reason I fully support my HOA. Also, lots of hate for police OT, but our HOA pays for additional EBRSO patrols, which I also support.

Our cameras are linked to other neighborhood HOA/crime prevention districts making a good network of coverage. The cameras were used to solve car break in of my own car. EBRSO used my report to pull the recordings and was able to solve 6 other break ins using the footage.

Yeah the two things my hood has done well with HOA is exactly that: cameras and patrol. Hope to not deal with these hood rats but my garage is typically closed and doors are locked.
