Kelly “We don’t have a quarterback controversy…JD’s the starter…feels good keeping all 3”

Kelly sounded certain about 3 things in his post game. Daniel’s is LSU’s starter, will keep an open mind…Nuss will get every opportunity to compete, play, and improve… after talking to his QB’s he feels good about keeping all three of LSU’s QB’s for fall, thinks none will transfer.

I learned one thing this season, when the Rant disagreed with Kelly, LSU’s Coach was almost always right.

He said he believes he should have all 3 through spring not fall. Big difference. After spring they can still decide to transfer which 100% chance one of them will.

All three have no reason to leave. Nuss knows he’ll play in 2023 and have the most experience of anyone in 2024. And Howard knows he knows another year to to be ready for 2024.

If the two dudes are good, do you really mind a 2 QB system? I don’t mind it. They are very different but both very effective (possibly).

You guys really want one of these QBs to transfer. I hope they're not as reactionary as tRant.
Nuss is pretty much guaranteed starting job as a junior unless Howard makes a mega jump in progression. 1 good season, he bolts and it goes straight to Howard. What Howard showed today is he's likely at least 2 years away before he's ready to sniff the field. He looked lost so if he thinks he's just going to go over to a major program and be guaranteed a starting job without earning it he's a fool.
Lastly, Nuss might even have the opportunity to start next season. Again, patience will pay off for him. JD's style of play is high risk for injury so he might get in for that reason alone next season. Nuss sure doesn't look like someone who's interested in transferring just by how he reacts on the sidelines. He cuts up, jokes, and has fun with everyone including JD. Usually when QBs are thinking of leaving they distance themselves from the team.

We are gonna need JD to be a lot more consistent in the passing game if we wanna reach the playoffs. No more 80 yard games...and it would be nice to reach 200 yards passing every conference game.

Florida in 2006 did a great job using their inconsistent senior while introducing his replacement while winning it all.
LSU also did if for most of 2010-11 and went 24-3. Definitely beats going 11-12 the two seasons before Kelly got here.

I hope he's right, sincerely. With Drake Maye being offered 5 million to enter the portal, gotta imagine that Nuss is going to have to turn down 200-400k at least.
