Contrary to the commercial that just aired during the TCU/Michigan game.

Did he and his family flee from Judea (then still a nominally independent country) to Egypt (a province of another country, Rome) in order to avoid political persecution (government sanctioned murder) by the Hasmodian king of Judea?

That sort of thing is rather the definition of a political refugee.

It also has no bearing upon the status of probably 98% of the potential immigrants trying to get into this country today.

Can you tell me where in Egypt they “fled” to?

How long were they there?

Did they leave and return home????

Huge problem Aggie. You are supposed to seek asylum in the first sovereign country you cross into not trek through 5 or 6 countries to get to the one that will give you a bunch of free handouts.

If you believe these people are political refugees, by UN charter and international law, they should be given refuge in Mexico or other 1st country of entry.

I didn't see the commercial. What was the point? That we should have open borders because of refugees?

Matthew tells us only that they went to Egypt. He does not mention the name of the town or the exact length of their stay. Why?

Matthew Chapter 2 recounts Mary, Joseph and Jesus fleeing to Egypt to avoid Herod's slaughtering of the firstborn sons.

However, the refugees crossing our border today are experiencing no such thing.

I don’t need money. I just don’t understand or agree with drawing a parallel between Jesus and the millions pouring over our southern border

Is this Kamala’s new plan?

What countries did Joseph’s family transit between Judea and Egypt? I am not aware of any.

What handouts were being provided in Egypt? I seem to call some verse in Matthew to the effect that Augustus Caesar was handing out smart phones.

It don't make no difference to me, baby.
Everybody's had to fight to be free.
You see, you don't have to live like a refugee.
Don't have to live like a refugee!
Now baby, you don't have to live like a refugee.
Don't have to live like a refugee!

It’s why church membership and attendance is plummeting

The masses are tired of the false prolestyzing and false words of the modern church

I do not recall anything in the Bible about Joseph, Mary and Jesus passing through Mexico. Who knows? There are a lot of folks named Jesus in Mexico.

That’s a big part of it. More damaging than that has been allowing women to take over “head of household” type roles within the church. I went to a non denominational church for Christmas and I couldn’t believe how soft these men were.
