I haven’t said he is better. He hadn’t played a college snap. That cannot be a thing yet. I said he is a better prospect

It’s not even a hot take I hear this all the time from recruiting pundits

It’s not, really. People just like what they are familiar with. Campbell has been a really good LT for a freshman and I assume will continue to be for 2-3 more years. Heard is different tho, and when he gets his shot people will understand this thread.

Regardless, it’s a good problem to have. We need dogs up front and it looks like we are getting them.

I mean that's kind of like saying four years ago Terrance Marshall is better prospect Jefferson. Sure it looked accurate at the time, but it doesn't always work out that way.

I don’t really look at stars. I like to watch all the tape I can get

Well your the best talent evaluator ever if you can watch high school olineman dominate kids they have 100 lbs on and figure out who is the best. There is really no way to evaluate lineman until you watch the best go against each other in camps or at all star practices and games.

Fair enough. I guess I am just reserving my expectations for Heard. If he ends up having a better year than a Freshman All-American, then he and LSU are better for it, but I have a hard time putting that kind of expectations on an 18 year old.

First of all you are getting way too bent out of shape considering lsu has the two best OT prospects they’ve had in almost 25yrs. And Emory Jones isn’t too bad himself, and clearly has a pro future at that position should he wait to carve that out for himself. But based on past interviews, prefers playing inside, and that is fine.

This is stupid. How do you think coaches do it? You can tell a lot even from 1 on 1’s in these camps. These edge guys are built different and are faster than ever. You can see Heard’s bend and agility especially in these clips.

And just From a physical profile standpoint, he checks every box. You don’t need tape to see that

Kid had a fantastic week. All 3 major sites(ESPN ain't one) had him as the best OL in attendance by good margin. Expect him to rise into the top 10 maybe overall #1 OL in the class. Good job kid.
