I think they are in the hunt but nothing solid. The car was outreach to the public for more tips (a hope). I think they have more but nothing they want to let loose yet.

What do you base them "Being in the hunt" on? To me, it seems as if they take the next steps in investigating when they read a blog that suggests something.
Exactly what is it that gives you confidence in them?
ETA: Let's don't just be downvote queers. Answer the fricking question if you don't agree that these buffoons have not conducted a proper investigation.

Yes. Been following it, and the police have rolled back on asking for help from the public. They are only asking for help with regards to a specific vehicle in a specific time frame. They have also returned to the scene recently for more evidence collection, which takes time to be processed.
The families of the victims have shown outspoken support of the investigators progress in recent days as well.
Seems like they have identified their suspect, but are being sure they have every bit of evidence for an indictment/conviction.

More likely: they don't have enough evidence yet for an arrest warrant. You dont sit on evidence if it is enough to arrest. You get the perp in custody and put the squeeze on him.

Sometimes it takes a while.
The southern Ohio mass family Rhoden murders took like 2+ years for arrest.
It was a family one of the daughters was having child custody beef with. So, not some weird ppl police wouldn't look into.
Hopefully, this will be similar.
