A lot of people think he'll be at safety, though. That would appear to be where he fits best, based on his skill set.

Agreed. Watched Welch quite a bit at Acadiana High and I can tell y’all for sure the kid is ALL SEC type good. Just watch when it’s his turn

Hopefully we add 2 more corners and a safety.

Ryan is terrible at Nickel. Banks has played and trained at both outside corner and in the slot. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Brooks get moved back to nickel mostly.

Magician, don’t speak out your arse. He started at Ohio st and was projected to be a 1st rounder after 2021. Unfortunately he got hurt in the 21 season. Obviously we know what happened this year.

You can't rely on Banks. At this point, LSU should treat him like he doesn't exist on the roster and still grab another big time vet in the portal. If Banks works out, great but you can't sit here and slot him in as an expected starter with his injury history.

L T had two injuries in high school he had to recover from. I feel he is finally at full speed. He should be able to help.

As long as we get the kid from Virginia or Southeastern, I'll be happy.

with the wr room as stacked as it is, i wouldn't be surprised to see one of them get moved to db

happens all the time and usually works out well

Well, unfortunately, that's not how it works. If he's not a CB, you don't just put him there because you need it. That's the sort of thing you do when there is no other choice. LSU is going to have better corners next year, and Toviano can slot into his more natural position.

Banks is not someone we can rely on until he proves he’s healthy

He had a weird hip injury at Ohio State and finally recovered from that and then got a concussion on a targeting call at Mississippi State.

The two injuries are not connected and there is no reason he shouldn't be recovered from a concussion nearly a year later.

I wouldn't be shocked if he medically retires from football.

Maybe if he gets another big time injury this yr.

All signs point to him being ready to go for next season

That was way more than just a concussion. He had a neck injury as well.

I agree, Welch and Harris will start, imo. I like Welch a lot.

Just my opinion but I don't think Toviano's career is at CB for LSU it's at S, imo

He can definitely be a boundary CB but I think he'll better at S. He may play both and have that versatility for us.
