Fans dilemma: next yr QB..pros and cons of each QB

Daniels:
Pro: experience, you know what your getting from a Daniels run offense..fast as fucck. Beat Bama
Cons: He cannot throw consistently to be down the field threat…if they shut down his running lanes..he is screwed..see last 3 games..has problems reading defense
Nuss:
Pros…NFL arm, takes chances down the field..several LSU WRs name him first when talking about QBs
Cons: limited tape…makes several bone headed INTs or throws per game..sort of a gun slinger like Brett Farve (could be a pro or con here)
Walker:
Pro: highly ranked QB coming out of high school..live arm..came from a family of football players..dad played for LSU..some rank him ahead of Arch Manning based on potential.
Cons: very limited tape. Did not play Sr. Yr of high school..thus maybe why daddy Howard did not want coach to play him as a freshman.
Sound about right?

Because of how important it is, you have to add protects the ball to Daniels Pros. He is the safe option and I would add high floor, low ceiling.
Overall good summary, but I would also change tape to low play time for Nuss. Essentially the same, but I think game experience is the key for Nuss to improve, unlike Daniels.

I’d say that’s pretty fair. I think it’s a huge concern that Barry Odom seemed to lay out a blueprint to exploit Jayden’s weaknesses and he hasn’t had a good game since

What was in that blueprint?

Nope. But without getting into anything else, tell who was playing QB for STM in the playoffs in 2021.
I'll hang up and listen.

Didn't he just miss a few games, not the whole season?

how is this a dilemma for fans?

Which is on the coaches and just maddening. He should have had at least 100 attempts against P5 competition this year.

Play in close to stop up his running lanes and force him to throw passes over 10 yards. He will not throw that ball most of the time.

Make him throw it downfield. You’re an idiot if you’re trying to be a smartass, anyone with two eyes can see that Arkansas, A&M, and Georgia did the exact same things defensively against us and it worked brilliantly

Except Georgia. Where he was moving the ball very effectively. He also wasn’t bad against A&M. This narrative that he’s been bad since the Arkansas game just really doesn’t hold up. Not saying he was completely outstanding just that his performances were not “bad”.

"Overall good summary"
"that is fair"
"this sounds very right"
LSU fans are so frickin' dumb. I stopped after he said Walker Howard missed his Sr year and this is why his daddy wanted him to RS
this is how easily you idiots are tricked by things you read on the internet

Or maybe he should have performed better in practice and when given the opportunity in games that he was given. You know, where he threw several interceptions and showed his inability to protect the ball.
No but I’m sure he was absolutely the “better QB” and that the staff just chose not to play him. Makes total sense.

Then why was he moving the ball effectively against all of those but Arkansas? Odd.

The good news is that we will have a very good (and well coached) team no matter which one of these guys starts.

who the hell would downvote this? man some people are dumb.. hell, i like Daniels but this is spot on.. he cant throw down the field...
I still think you have to give it over to Nuss, the WR's have been upfront and vocal about wanting him... Daniels can be a red zone threat or move to slot..

quote:Stopped reading here because you know throwing is kind of important when discussing QBs. Next year should be a nuss vs Howard battle let the best QB win the job.
Cons: He cannot throw consistently to be down the field threat…if they shut down his running lanes..he is screwed..see last 3 games..has problems reading defense
JD needs to go pro. His window is closing.
