I feel like he never gave LSU a chance. Was that due to being scared by walker or what? Just curious.

Never wanted LSU. Grandad was a front running tide fan in the end

Where would you put Eli in this current LSU QB room? 4th?

Well, his parents did send him back to Zachary from Broussard, where they live, so he wouldn’t have to play behind Walker Howard.

So there’s that.

We you see kids move to different high schools often to "showcase their skills" I would put probability of transfer portal at high.

So when he goes to Alabama Saban will have to be constantly recruiting him. Exhausting.

I would put him as a freshman with a high upside. He would be an immediate fan favorite and within a year be on the transfer portal watch list. This is the new norm for college football, we still can’t grasp that here.

He will be 3rd at best at Bama on the depth chart not even counting the other QB committed from this year or any transfers that may come aboard.

Agreed. No one is willing to wait multiple years to start anymore. I’d expect him to bolt if he’s not starting by year 2.

He will sit the bench another year at bama then transfer to have a chance to start. The sit 2 years and transfer bama model is not a good way to go.

I have watched his recruitment for 3-4 yrs now since I live in Zachary. You get a lot of bad info on this board so filter it as needed. First I will say I dont think LSU is the place for him but I do believe he has talent. I think the family politics go back to his brother who did not come here either.

Much has been said by the morons on here that he transferred from STM to Zachary because he was scared of Walker Howard. He left STM before WH was even the starter. I believe he was starting at ZHS before WH was starting at STM. The decision to go elsewhere (Zachary) was the smartest decision of his life. Instead of sitting for two years and getting one to play to build a resume he started for 3 yrs, won a State Championship, numerous awards, and became a top 10 QB in the class garnering many top level offers and NIL value.

The other stupid thing is that if he was scared of WH then why go to Alabama and have to compete with other high level stars?

FTR, I am a Zachary homer but I actually like the Collins kid from Woodlawn better right now. Marcus Randall has done a good job with him.

This seems to always work against us. But take someone like Landon Collins who’s mom would’ve loved him to come here it wasn’t enough
