I just had the idea that I want to start a soccer league in the United States. Although futbol is popular in other places in the world such as England it's definitely growing in the US. Need some fellas to get on board with this.

The teams have coaches and everything, however, the team is actually run by stakeholders online. Meaning, once someone invests enough to meet a said threshold then they are eligible to become an owner and vote online for team decisions. Not sure what the threshold would be and if it would be a certain amount you have to pay or if you pay more that is reflected with voting power.

Eligible to vote on:

-Transfer markets (asks and bids)
-New coaching hires
-Lineups (maybe, don't know how I feel about that)

I'm obviously imagining this wouldn't be profitable for the pioneer investors until (if) the league grows, would need to be able to raise a lot of capital upfront.

Seems like a cool concept, definitely just throwing this out to see if it catches some steam. Thoughts?

Ever heard of MLS? It sucks. That’s why soccer has its own board.

Lots of issues with soccer. FIFA/ US Soccer run everything.

That said, email bornkjun@aol.com, I want to ask you a few things

The only way a league can compete with the MLS if it has promotion/relegation. Which is why the MLS sucks because it's set up like every other American professional sports league.

That's why watching a team like Wrexham FC, in the lowest football division in England, trying to gain promotion is way more interesting than watching an MLS team win the championship.

I get the audience you're speaking to, but you know this isn't true.

This sounds like the sort of horrible idea that needs to be associated with crypto/ NFTs. If you pump it the right way, you could probably get rich before it falls apart.

I’m in and would like 10% ownership for free due to getting in on the ground floor.

Teams that are owned by the fans still exist, and were the norm in soccer for a long time, before the professionalization of that aspect of the game in the 1990's. But also, having fans vote on things is just not sustainable at elite levels in the sport. Frankly, most fans are too emotionally involved to be effective decision-makers in a day-to-day sense.

Regardless, the best way to engineer this would be to establish an actual club, with physical space members can actually use for fitness and training, which would give capital for starting club teams at the bottom of the soccer pyramid. You could also start several other teams in other sports as well.

A new soccer league would need to include Canada and Mexico but there is a league in Mexico already and I am not sure about Canada.
