Came in during the second half of LSU getting blown out by Miss State and went 6/9 for 140 yards, 2 TDs, 1 Int. He almost led a comeback. Many people called for him to replace the struggling Anthony Jennings.

It turns out that he sucked and this would be the best performance of his career.

I’m super happy we saw growth out of Nuss for the 1st time. He has all the tools to be a successful P5 QB and finally looked like he knows how to run an offense.

The point is that you can’t learn too much from one half of a blowout. If JD can’t go for the bowl, we’ll get to see what Nuss can do moving forward.

Yeah… Georgia in the SEC champ is a little different.

Les Miles was the worst offensive coach I've ever seen. Would have been interesting to see Harris under a competent OC.

Miles could never accurately identify QB talent. Harris, Jennings. Franks who whiffed at Florida. Miles had talented rosters but very poor QB play due to missed talent evaluations.

You definitely can't read a whole lot into the UGA performance
UGA was obviously not in attack mode on defense and was giving a cushion in the secondary

Nuss still threw several that could have been picked and still likes to run backwards while throwing off his back foot - all recipes for turnovers which Kelly is not gonna put up with in that position

Is the talent evident- most certainly and plenty of things you like that coaching staff can work with

It may very well be, but they were never threatened to lose the game. Time will tell.

I’m rooting for Nuss to stick around and compete. One half of a game where we lost isn’t enough to replace JD (when healthy) yet though.

He played for Fedora at NC who is well respected for his offense and sucked there too

He sucked bc Les and his staff were incapable of developing QBs. Had he a decent coach he most likely becomes a solid college QB.

If we’re comparing Harris and Jennings to Nuss and Daniels, learn the lesson, scrap them both and go straight to Howard.

Eh, I think both Jennings and Harris had more to do with whatever Les did to them in practice after the Arkansas and State games respectively.

For the love of everything, stop with these comparisons.

JD / Burrow

Nuss / Harris.

Lol. What a straight lie. I mean a straight lie. There was no soft d, no prevent, and no backups until 4 min left. Just a straight lie and it's obvious when you start trying to tear him down on other throws. The kid came in and threw for 300 yards and doubled the points from the first half. If not for poor play calling on one drive deep in ga territory, the offense very well could have put up 28 points in second half. Unreal what the love for a QB that can't throw, will lead you to do to support your stance. Nuss has an NFL arm and mobility. Eod.

It is when one has an NFL arm and the other can't throw downfield. In addition JD ended the year poorly as sec teams have figured him out.

And JD has had over 50+ starts over a 4 year span and has showed he can’t throw the ball consistently to challenge a defense more than 15 yards down the field.

I’ll go with the redshirt freshman who has 3 years with plenty upside over the guy who is who is. He won’t eat a magic jelly bean this off-season.

Downvote away but Miles was successful because the strength of his teams were elite defenses that stayed fresh because of a solid running game that controlled the clock.
