You understand that Elon musk doesn’t want to force people to get a brain chip right? Bill Gates is in favor of mandating vaccines.
And Bill Gates has no viable plan to end world hunger and poverty.
Regardless of how much food we are capable of producing, and how good we get at transporting it to feed people incapable of sustaining their own lives by trading labor for food at no cost to the consumers, this is not a productive endeavor. It’s the equivalent of printing money.
Same thing with poverty. There is no cure because we will always redefine poverty relative to others more capable and willing to support themselves.
Once Neuralink is mastered, we need to download Musk’s brain and clone the shite out of that fricker.

And yet, I can see public support for it. Convicted felons and mentally ill seem likely candidates. Cheaper to implant a chip than to house and feed a prisoner or patient.

It's going to be nice until those monthly subscription fees start... then when you don't pay your monthly fee, the chip gets turned off...
Shouldn’t it have already happened with pacemakers?

No thanks. Riding in a self driving Tesla is creepy enough for me.

Elon's endgame is somehow developing a way to upload one's consciousness.
It was interesting that Elon reached out to the guy who writes the wait but why page after he wrote what is one of the best articles I’ve seen on artificial super intelligence and what it means for us.
AI article
He also did a post on neurolink Neurolink article

What can possibly go wrong from a wireless chip implanted in your head?

Bill Gates attempting to end hunger? For frick's sake. Norman Borlaug did more to end hunger than Gates could ever imagine, and he has been vilified by the left.

I agree. But society is changing in how they view felons. No way these voters agree to have chips forcibly implanted in felons.
But mentally ill homeless people may be a viable target. It’s a public benefit to help people who without implants would be sleeping, pissing, and shitting on public streets. Many walk around screaming at imaginary people, which can be dangerous. If improving the cognitive function of these zombies would enable them to function in a healthier and productive manner, the public may support this. I would.

quote:Elon usually comes through on what he sets out to do, but if anyone is familiar with the concept of "Elon Time" you'll know when he says something like this, it's probably best to set your expectations to maybe 2025 or 2026.
Elon’s Neuralink brain chips may start human trials next year
He's notorious for never hitting the dates he says. But he usually does deliver the product, so if that's the worst thing you can say, that isn't THAT bad for someone manning companies that are doing some impressive shite.
