Can we talk about the absurdity of the penalty awarded to someone that headed a ball out of bounds being awarded a PK for getting touched by a goalie?

It was harsh for this scenario, but I do wish refs would give more penalties for defenders/goalies taking players out after they shoot the ball.

This happens all the time, especially after watching specifically for it after the penalty. If the ball comes out clean you never see a penalty awarded.

I forgot what I saw it on, or even if it was soccer or college football. But they had the best take.
We need a mix of VAR / Review and some common sense that can be applied universally. It seems like every couple weeks there is some blatantly stupid obscure run of play that makes the video review look absolutely inept.

I've seen goalies punch a ball and a defenders face and not get a penalty. The keeper didn't even know Messi was there. He had his arms outstretched to make a save. Granted Messi did take a gloved finger in the eye from the photo I saw.

College basketball is one of the worst where every time the ball gets knocked out of bounds they slow it down and go frame by frame and if it clips an arse air of the guy with the ball they give the ball to the other team. Even though the other team knocked the ball out and wouldn’t have gotten the ball ever in the previous 100 years of playing basketball.
I.E. Texas Tech getting screwed in OT of the national championship game.
