Daniels just completed his 4th year as a starting QB. A great runner, but a below average passer. Will he show improvement next year, possibly but doubtful. What you see is what you got. Walker on the other hand tremendous upside. He was ranked very high like Weigman among QB’s in the 2022 recruiting rankings. Competition should be wide open with Walker given a fair shot at being the starter.

If JD returns, it’ll be a 2 QB system because Walker won’t be kept on the bench.

I’m not against playing both Walker and JD because it makes it that much tougher on DCs.

It's a waste of a year to play JD again, he's not good as a passer.

CBK is going to tell JD that it’s best for both him and LSU that they move on

If Walker Howard can throw down the field, we are in great shape. Did not see much of that at all this season from JD5

Sit JD down and tell him he's moving to wide receiver and let him compete there while Howard takes over. Nuss is as good as gone.

If Howard can't beat JD out on ability, then we are well and truly fricked.

How many throws did Walker Howard make this year? Hope we see him a little bit in a bowl game

I think JD goes pro, can be a great WR in the NFL.

Him not reading his reciever windows down the sidelines and over the middle to stretch the field seriously cripples the lsu offense. He has no had 4 straight years to learn and he is worst than most all the freshamn starters around the league.

Him signing nil right after bama and he consequently putting his efforts into the tank is clearly visible also.

JD's problem isn't that he can't make the throws. It's the fact that he is attempting to severely limit his turnover ratio by not attempting to stretch the field. He's only throwing "safe" passes. Unfortunately, this is the SEC and defenders are better athletes than in the PAC12.

Bryce Young would've run through the SEC with this team. We aren't as far off as many like to think we are. We just need a QB that is a passer more so than a threat to run.

If LSU gets beat by Georgia and JD doesn’t show improvement Howard should start the bowl game. That’s the best way to ease into the transition. That way the writing is on the wall and JD knows where he stands. Gives him ample time to decide whether to switch positions or switch teams.

Y'all are dumb. We CANNOT move on from Daniels. QBs that can extend plays are valuable in college and Walker is probably not that guy. Daniels has more to learn for sure, but need I remind everyone he has put up eerily similar numbers to Burrow's first year here. He's the guy next year, plain and simple.

Not much mention of Nuss as a potential starter. Are we just writing him off as a transfer? We need some experience in the locker room next year. It would be tough to just throw Walker out there. I HOPE he is "the guy," but I think (hope) Nuss will show us the potential we think he has.

Ahhh…the Rant expecting a redshirt freshman who many have never seen throw a pass to come in and have us competing for championships.

Name the redshirt freshman in the SEC that have led “championship” type seasons. I’ll hang up and listen.

Daniels is like a streaky basketball 'scorer'. Not a pure shooter, not consistent with a high basement, but tends to make some great plays (mostly with his legs, but he has the arm to do it passing too). I think Kelly has been trying to figure out how to get him to just play without thinking, use the talent he has. Every so often he hits a rhythm, but you'd want it to lock in at some point. We thought he hit that after Fla, Ole Miss and Alabama, but then he did at Arkansas the same thing he did at Auburn.

I'm not in the camp that he needs to be ejected, because this is his first year in this offense. If he came back and was consistent, it's a W for all parties. If he's beaten out by Howard, so be it. That's ultimately what we want, anyway.

Just like Weigmann, Walker should have been given a fair shot to play.
