What does adding the word 'gay' do for the story?

Why does that matter?

This is a serious question?

Fine, I'll spell it out. It's a potential hate crime. Just like someone walking into a black church and shooting the place up is a potential hate crime.

The gay part adds context to the story. Gay bars being shot up isn't like some ghetto juke joint getting shot up every Saturday night. It's a pretty uncommon occurrence and there's a fairly reasonable chance it was done by someone who doesn't care for queers all that much.

So in the early phases of this story, yes the context of the gay bar matters. As time passes, we'll know more.

Now do you understand?

It's a mass manipulation ploy to set up a group persecution sympathy play on the public.

Got it.

That really isn’t the point. It would have been more “progressive” to refer to it as a bar popular with the local gay community or colored the attack as a potential hate crime for that reason. Just slapping the”gay” label on shite isn’t very inclusive.

"hate" crime = "assault" weapon.

It's redundant, retarded and meaningless.

Which is being pushed as a hate crime.

quote:

“Club Q is devastated by the senseless attack on our community,” the club posted on Facebook. It said its prayers were with victims and families, and “We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack.”

Colorado Springs is a city of about 480,000 located about 70 miles (112 kilometers) south of Denver that is home to the U.S. Air Force Academy. The city has long been an epicenter of American evangelicalism. Focus on the Family, a prominent evangelical Christian ministry, is based in Colorado Springs.

In November 2015, three people were killed and eight wounded at a Planned Parenthood clinic in the city when authorities say a man opened fire because he wanted to wage “war” on the clinic because it performed abortions.

And they already have potential perps. Good job Progs.

Why is “hate” murder worse than just murder? Is it to encapsulate all straight, non-ethnic, mainstream people as evil killers?
