Shes mediocre at best when put up against any group of exotic/non white women.

Shes very attractive, but would never consider her hot. Typical slender, boring, without much curves.

This. She’s easy on the eyes.
But her popularity isn’t entirely driven by her appearance, which is sort of unusual for female musicians in the US. Men don’t really seem to like all of her music and usually aren’t big fans of her. Women love her.
I may be way off base here - She’s not really following the Brittney/Madonna/generic female pop singer model of overtly using sex to sell music. How many women under the age of 40 have you met that aren’t a fan of hers? Not many artists have such mass appeal across age groups like that. They are’t buying an insane amount of concert tickets and swag because they think she’s hot (at least not all of them).

Im not sure what you mean across age groups though. Millenials love her bc they grew up listening to her whine about boys, and wrote catchy lyrics pretending like she had some type of control over them the entire time. Does the gen below them like her too? There just arent many non country artists that lasted out of their teens and twenties in our gen so shes one of a few to choose from. Not taking away from talent, I just don't think there's some massive gap between her and the next pop princess other than she crossed over genres right after puberty, so she could bang the john mayers of the world.
Its basically preteen hype music, and everyone's parents let them listen because she didnt talk about anything over PG-13. Now its pretty much pure nostalgia.
