The republican party should embrace gay marriage.

There's alot to like and dislike in the current republican party imo. But what makes me just short of calling myself a republican is their opposition to gay marriage. The party of small government should really stop caring about what consenting adults do between themselves. You can still be conservative while liking d**k like me.
Hopefully, they vote for the Respect for Marriage Act this week.

No one wants to stop people from having a legal relationship with whoever they choose. That was never the issue, all Republicans were quick to support civil unions which provided a path for this to happen. The fear was always the attack on religious beliefs, forcing religious institutions to accept homosexuality is the ultimate goal. The exact opposite of small government, and you fell for it.

I'm okay with gay civil union. Gay 'marriage,' though legally identical, is terminology which unfortunately predicates a destabilizing aftermath. That is what we're now stuck with.

I have no problem with gay people. Neither does Trump. He appointed the first openly gay man to a cabinet level position.
The problem is the trannies. Gay people should never have allowed them to hijack their group. It's the trannies that are hellbent on embracing pedophiles and gender surgery for children.

What kind of 'support' do you mean?? I am aware of no resistance to it - I am aware of no consequences of that resistance if it exists.

do you want us to fly your stupid rainbow flag?? piss on that - we fly the flag of our country and its wholesome symbols - we don't fly flags in support of historic marriage either
so - what is lacking in our 'embrace' of homosexual unions??
Would it not be better for the USA if the DEMOCRAT party embraced the traditional family structure?? THAT is the number one defect in the black community --- the reason the black community still borders on dysfunctional --- the reason the black community is the largest cesspool of murder, riot, welfare, dysfunctional lifestyle in the world.
IF the DEMOCRAT party would don ONE THING to salvage the nations future = it would be the wholesale encouragement of the black community to reform themselves oround the concept of working dads and moms taking care of their children.
THEN we could entertain fringe concepts like homosexual marriage at our leisure.
Right now the nation is fighting an existential war against forces of absolute evil, and you want us to direct some effort to celebrate your fringe enjoyment - nah - hard pass. Learn to live with your current status.
MAYBE you could concern your mind with actually trying to help out us AMERICANs try to save out nation.

Gay marriage is pointless. The only reason gays want it, is because they want to play pretend that Sodomy is some how natural and a legitimate way to produce children. Why should society hold that up as something we should recognize and celebrate.
By all means, do whatever you want behind close doors. I am even fine if we you want to establish civil unions so you can have certain things like hospital visiting rights, etc. You can have ceremonial marriages as well.
But again, why would my state have to recognize gay marriage? And why should my state be forced by the federal.government to have to recognize it?

that was deemed to be a reasonable thing - in the few dozen cases where it even happened. It was another little 'nose under the tent' distraction that enabled their wholesale race to teach homosexual sex to first graders, perform drag queen celebrations in libraries, openly sexualize our children, open the door to pedophiles, further trivialize the concept of the defining feature of human civilization - the union of one man and one woman dedicated to making the world a better place for their offspring.

I don't know that you want to play that game unless you're ok with a state refusing to accept another state's drivers license or ID as well.

Tell you what - IF that 'respect for marriage' act had its major purpose to provide incentives for NATURAL MARRIAGE and the full support for that lifestyle - like perhaps offering TAX INCENTIVEs for those who engage in it - I might even take a look at it.
BUT - I suspect it is just another wedge to further DIVIDE the nation against its real existential attributes - and that is the REVERENCE for traditional marriage and its lifestyle of raising responsible and productive offspring.

Stop being dishonest about this. It’s really that you are trying to get conservatives to CELEBRATE gay marriage against their personal beliefs. “Leave us alone” is a lie. We’re way past that.
