Are we buying? If so what?
Does the market take another drop. Or do we trend side ways?
Got a chunk of change and just wondering if I should pull the trigger.
I am buying small amounts of quality dividend stocks on a fairly regular basis.

If your buying Div Stocks you should be ok . My Div Stock portfolio is up 7% YTD compared to my other portfolio with growth stocks etc down about 12%. Market been up for about the last month can see a turn south but not the doom and gloom that many on here like to predict. If you got a chunk of change identify a few good stocks you like and give it a little while because most of them have run up in the last month but they should be back in the buy zone at the end of the year into beginning of next year. Good luck.

market will wobble in upward direction until christmas.
After that
market will retest lows but won't go lower.
All of this is barring major unexpected news.

Aren't we going up for some reason right now?

Look at practically any crash prior. Tons of huge up and down days.
What is there to be bullish about?
Housing is dead
Layoffs coming before Christmas (wild)
Expensive to borrow
Exactly what anyone would want to crash an economy.

Doesn't matter how many times it's said. Everyone always wants to predict what the market will do based on current economic conditions. That's not how markets work.
Markets are forward looking. They also have already started rebounding well before headlines catch up. They crash quicker and rebound quicker than the economy. It's why timing the market is impossible.

Layoffs are hitting F500 companies widely across industries in preparation for a tough 2023. Consumer behaviors aren’t really reflective of the sentiment….yet. This makes me this the worst isn’t here yet.

We’re in a recession, a big one, yea I’m not buying anything. Of course neither are consumers.

I don't disagree with this. However, I don't think we (the market) have even begun to digest the pain that is coming.

Care to share what stocks those bad boys are or did you luck into good timing?
I did luck up i just started my Roth IRA last year. Only buying Div stocks in it.
Here is my list. Sorry about the quality. I did drop a point after yesterday close to 6% now.

Yeah most of those you mentioned i have owned the longest but i added 5 others a few months ago and they are up 15% to 20% in that timeframe thus the green. I'm waiting for another downturn to add to them but i have to wait to the new year anyway my IRA is maxed until the new year.

We are in well established downtrends... and below the 200 DMA in stocks and bonds...
Good luck picking those pennies up in front of those steamrollers.

I mean S&P is up 7% in the last month... I realize I cant time the market so my strategy is to continuously buy quality stocks and hold for a number of years thru market cycles.... is that not a good strategy. Like I should have been accumulating 5 shares of JNJ every month for the past 20 years type deal..
