Hey SFP. We aren't giving up on the life issue, so stop harping on it

I can say for certain, pro-lifers are not going to come out and vote for some pro baby killing, neocon creep who's main campaign platform is to lower corporate taxes for Wal Mart. And we don't care about your big, gay, fake fiat economy and trying to save it, especially if it comes at the expense of babies being murderd.
And we don't care how many focus groups Frank Luntz and Karl Rove want to run to tell us we should give up on the issue. We will never give up trying to stop this genocide on these precious little ones. We don't care if its "not a winning issue". So stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

SlowFlow has suddenly thrown his name in the hat for the worst poster on this board. Absolute shill.

At least there appear to be enough pragmatic southerners to overcome the loss of your single issue votes.

MF this.
i'm not going stop thinking something is murder because it's politically expedient and might get my slightly preferred political party in power. i think those on the left (not throwing SFP in that group) do genuinely think that the right just gets off on controlling women and that's why they want abortion gone and not that we see it as a great evil.
at this point i'd just be happy with a politician that said "hey i'm not going to outlaw it, but the taxpayer isn't paying for it and maybe just maybe... we can think about how to have them happen less often."

Then you will continue to lose.

I certainly wouldn't expect a pro life person to abandon their stance
Unfortunately it's a losing proposition politically
The vast majority of Americans support at least some abortion rights

The irony is by becoming single issue voters on abortion they'll inevitably cede power to the left wing pro choice crowd and will lose on the only issue they care about

Here we go again. This is why you're losing.
Not just abortion, but any kind of groupthink. Conservatism is individual.

Well, yeah. They've already been born.

I get being pro life...I really do. But by making it a prominent campaign issue all you're going to do is give more power to the left who will certainly expand abortion access when they have power

Isn't ther new Republican governor of Nevada pro choice?
Must be no Republicans in Nevada!

Taking the emotion out of this.
What many people don't realize is how many pro-lifers there are that don't care about the other issues or maybe would even lean Democrat if the issue was off the table.
If Republicans wanted to abandon this issue, they would be losing alot of ground with Evangelicals and Catholics.
The other issue is. The pro-life movement and to a lesser extent the 2A crowd, are the backbone for organizing and motivating segments of the Republican base who would otherwise not show up. If Republicans want to abandon these issues, I have no idea where they would draw their base from. There is not any other grassroots activism inside the Republican party other than life and guns. No one is organizing rural folks in southeastern Ohio over lowering the marginal tax rate by a %.

Yes by enabling the far left, which is what they're doing, ultimately, there will be an increase of millions of abortions.

i won't say that i or anybody i know is a single issue voter on abortion, but you take it away and i'm not voting democrat.
you could ask, "well what if the parties switched on that position?" but everything else the left advocates is to allow people to have sex without consequence and i'm out on that.

Yes you are a minority population who can negatively affect non-leftists, but you can't win elections on your own. If you sit out you're just going to let leftism increase faster and the issues you care about will be worse off. Your choice

Seeing financially illiterate TD posters give their opinion on the economic outlook of our country is the highlight of my day.
This board is the Dunning-Kruger Effect to a T.

understood. but you're asking me to enable more murder now so maybe i could potentially possibly some day have less murder if the political winds tilt in my favor again? that's a hard ask.
again, I'm not hard up on a national ban for abortion. I think if a republican came to the table and had a well structured platform for abortion in case of rape, incest, and life of mother (while also going after rapists) and a plan to actually just have LESS ABORTIONS NEEDED, really good inroads could be made.
i'd love to convince everybody that abortion is evil. but a starting point would be to convince people that they're unnecessary.

I get it
But perhaps with better social safety net programs fewer people would have abortions
Most abortions are "convenience" abortions for people who don't think they're financially equipped to take care of a child
