What would it seriously take for DA to be fired?

I know everyone wants it, but I am not convinced at all that he will be. I'm fairly certain that he will get another year. This front office just "prides" itself on not being reactionary, for being logical and letting things play out and not overreacting.

I am fairly certain that because of that and their relationship with DA, they will give him at least another year, if not 2.

But what would it realistically take for this FO to fire him during or after this season?

I am not talking scandal, I am talking football wise.

Would they even fire him if they didn't win another game?

After the bye, we have 3 winnable games (falcons, browns, and panthers). If he goes 1-3 after bye, I say he's out

You're seeing it now what it would take. He's losing and he's going to lose this franchise a top draft pick as well.

Look at our remaining schedule. I don't see many wins in the next 7 games.

Rams - L
@ 49ers - L
@ Bucs - L
Falcons - L (lets face it, they're better than us)
@ Browns - L (Watson returns)
@Eagles - LOL
Panthers - Probably the only winnable game and likely an L

So he loses out, like I think he will, and he's gone. And frankly he should be gone today because the team is terrible, has pretty much quit on him, and he doesn't know how to be a head coach in this league.

I don’t think he gets fired this year. They will scapegoat injuries and Carmichael who will leave to go coach with Sean next year. He will hire a new OC and be kept on next year. After that, all bets are off as to how long he lasts.

IMHO

I say Carolina is a W because they'll tank in the 2nd half.

The irony of this team actually having a pulse, we'd sneak into the playoffs. But they quit. I never thought I'd say that again

What's really frustrating is pretty much every game has been winnable for the Saints and they squandered each game with penalties and turnovers.

He won’t be back next season
That’s all that matters

I think the only way he stays is if he can somehow get to 8-9. Any other record and you can go ahead and shite can him.

Multiple players going to ownership asking for a trade.

If they go 7-10 that means they did relatively OK down the stretch despite the injuries and QB situation, so they keep him.

I think they need to go at least 5-12 and I'm not sure even that does it.

This. I have 4 season tix (2 in 600s and 2 in 100s). I’m going down to 2 next year and then may cancel after next season depending on where the team is headed. With DA at helm and no prospect of building a team for future, you can’t expect season ticket holders to just accept it. You will see 15-20% attrition- maybe worse (particularly if inflation stays around 9%). People will simply not renew and wait for the team to improve.

Well the FO knows if he has lost the lockeroom or not. That's when he gets fired for sure.

Doesn’t really matter if the fire him or not. Cap hell and no draft capital will keep us below .500 for the next 2 years

for any other organization with ownership who are paying attention and wanting to win games.

but the question is, when would we have that? because there are no signs that a situation like that exists for us now.

if this happens then he gets 2 more years because the new OC needs time for his changes to start showing up in games. is always that way, you cant judge a new hire based on just the first year alone with someone elses system needing to be reworked

If we're talking what should happen, he should already be fired based on performance and future outlook.

If we're talking what will happen, I think there is nothing in terms of results on the field that could cause him to be fired this year. We've already won 3. Most coaches wouldn't get one and done'd after 1 season unless they won like 0 or 1 game. In the case of DA, we know the ownership and front office are huge proponents of his. Plus, this team is in dire straights on the cap and is missing a lot of draft capital for 2023. The "real" rebuild starts in 2024, so it might make sense to just keep him.
