Jake I’m not worried about. He was gone regardless. His brother was never going to play here going foreword. And his family is well off.

Arik still bugs me. His career was ruined because of severe mental issues. I was still rooting for him at Georgia. I’ve never seen a tf te that looked like that. He would have been unstoppable in this offense. Still wish him the best, but I can’t believe how much talent was just thrown down the drain.

I'm glad we have Taylor but let's not pretend Gilbert was a scrub. He played only 8 games but was voted freshman All-SEC, 35 passes 368 yards and two TDs. I've seen up close how mental health issues can wreak havoc. I feel sorry for the young man and hope he gets better to get ahead in life.

Did he always have schizophrenia or was this something that he developed when he was at LSU?

I would still take Arik back in a heartbeat.
LOL the love affair y'all have with certain players is pathetic.

Arik Gilbert isn’t the blocker that Mason Taylor is
Arik Gilbert doesn’t really want to be tight end …he wants to be a wide receiver

There is little doubt that the Roman circus Special Ed was running at LSU had a large effect on why he left but we will never know.

Remember when Ed was interviewed on BR radio and told everyone that Arik was sitting at home missing his momma?

I’m not sure I would let him back either, but this imo is not a typical situation.

Regardless, I don’t think he would leave the state of Georgia.

Gilbert didn’t really play TE for LSU. With Chase out, they used Gilbert most as a receiver. Similar to Bech last year.

If that’s true then everyone should just pray for the kid. Very sad.

Why are you such a loser? You said the same thing about Ricks a few weeks ago.

fine I’ll say it… 225tyga has a soft spot for all the black guys that LSU fans hate. It’s his way to get back at whitey

He can say whatever the frick he wants, but this is the truth

I was one of those puzzled by the number of targets MT86 was getting when LSU had a player like Bech

Yep - I was one of those also.

Seems like a lot of improvement has occurred all over the place since those first 3 games.

You probably know that but my college-aged kids have never heard of Zach Thomas or Jason Taylor.

I think a lot of college aged kids who grew up watching football would know who Jason Taylor is.

Gilbert would be a monster in this LSU offense
Yeah I’m confident that if Kelly had been here that year and not dipshit O he wouldn’t have had all these “issues”.

Arik Gilbert was an incredible freshman tightend, much better than mason Taylor, that couldn't get his head out of whatever bad place he had it. He's still struggling mentally for whatever reason. Also, Arik Gilbert barely dropped any balls that year, whereas Mason has. Gilbert also had some insane acrobatic catches, he was going to be one of the best tightends to ever play the game. Don't shite on the kid when he's down, he has everything to be great and I hope he can figure out what's wrong.

Agree wholeheartedly. He made catches in that first game loss to Ms State that made me think he'd be the best TE to ever don the P&G by the time he was done. I hope he figures it all out and has a success story in football and beyond.
