Norm Van Brocklin went directly from being a player for the Eagles to being the head coach of the Vikings.

Jeff Saturday is not the first guy to be the head coach of an NFL team with no college or NFL coaching experience.

I mean the game is wildly different today than it was then so not really sure you can make that comparison.

I didn't compare the two. I simply stated a fact.

Considering how things have changed in the League , Norm was the safer move for success.

I remember him when he coached the Falcons. He famous quote was that “As long as the Saints are in our division we are guaranteed at least two wins a year “. That was the beginning of the rivalry.

That was still in the era when they had player-coaches. It is much more of a business for coaches now than it was. Not simply a coaching job anymore.

Saturday I’m sure is Irsays dream choice but after the Honeymoon this is more that Saturday is ready for.
Pulling for him but this won’t probably work.
I think Reich getting canned has a lot to do with the Fact he has a Hall or Fame QB and benched him for a second year average rookie.
