It’s obvious this team is a dumpster fire. But what’s it going to take to turn this into a contender?

A new team. Top to bottom. Front office and all. Which will never happen but you clean house coaching staff and players. Then you wait until 2024 when you will have a first rounder again to look for your next franchise qb.

Gut everything except Olave and a few young guys
Eat the cap bullet finally
Smart coaching hires
Continue to kill the draft

Hope our division stays a dumpster fire

We don’t have a QB currently.

This current Saints team has Andy Dalton as a starter.

Honestly some creative deals to dump salary and acquire a few extra picks.

Not many people should be off limits.

There is nothing about the current brain trust that gives me hope that they can do this.

Defense
New safeties
New defensive tackles

Offense
Another wide receiver
A quarterback

That's for you to contend.
You need luck (health) and 2 of them to be a playoff team imho

There’s always the chance Allen Was hired just as a stop gap during the rebuild.

We can hope at least.

A new GM with a different philosophy on draft picks and building a team

A new coach with a different philosophy on running the team.

A new QB who can take the team to the next level.

May take less time than we think but all are crucial.

Whatever it takes is going to take about five years before the Saints ever think about the playoffs again.

We have way too much talent to suck. It’s all coaching. If we fired DA tmw it would be a plus.

1. A couple of years of tanking
2. Several years of purging bad contracts and old players
3. New General Manager immediately after this season ends
4. Entire new coaching staff from top to bottom, but not until 2024. Next year has to be a tank year.
