Without ad revenue how is he going to pay for all the costs of running the business?

That's the case with virtually anything in the world. Even scientists have figured out that you can crowd Source Solutions faster than putting 10 brilliant dudes in a room. The problem you're having is that you are hoping to be able to sit with your thumbs up your arse while someone spoon feeds you specific truth from one all-knowing head. That's how you get where we are now
How does Twitter become "the most reliable source of truth" without steering and adjusting? No social media should ever be a source of truth. I don't consider this TD to be a source of truth. It's basically random grumblings and shock stories for me to look into

I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m worried Elon will be found to have committed suicide by two shots to the back of the head soon. Leftist have proven time and again to be more than willing to do whatever they deem necessary to squash any threat to their Marxist agenda.

Yep. Called it.
Being beholden to advertisers is what has introduced the now pervasive rot in tech companies.
Cut that out and things would more accurately reflect the nation. Vs ads that target black trans progressives.

Bruh, what they are pissed about is he used their money to do this.
Elon just used the progressives money to leverage them out of twitter, the ultimate frick you because I can.
I think this may top the spaceman.

Why should anyone have the power to decide what you read, and believe, other than yourself?

Isn't that effectively what social media does? 500 people may comment on a topic, but how they are sorted is up to them. Do you really people people read all 500 or 5,000 comments on a particular issue? Voices tend to get amplified because they are popular. Doesn't mean they are factual, they are simply popular.
I don't see how a site basing trending information on parity can ever be a bastion of truth for the simple reason. People are idiots and biased.

That whole thought there is a product of something pulled straight out of your arse. Nothing I said mentioned a single point of information.
And what does crowd sourcing solutions have to do with presenting factual information? Are you suggesting the truth comes from think tanks? I get what you're trying to imply with that but how would a massive group of people contribute to a story when only a dozen or so people actually know wtf their talking about.
TD is a great example of what you get when everybody gets input on a breaking story. By page 9 you might have the result but you went a mile out of the way and down a few rabbit holes to get it. Maybe even spun off a few side stories and made a few people a little dumber in the process.
All I'm saying is we'll see how Elon's version works out. No need to bring butts in the conversation.

That's not a Twitter exclusive. That's what small time news anchors, YouTubers, and folks here do. Does it work? Only if you can reach outside of your bubble. I guess Elon is attempting to consolidate that and it might help information sending only because Twitter has name recognition. But even Twitter is plagued by bad actors and people that are hellbent on disruption.

crowd Source Solutions
Idk how I feel about this. Most of the country is retarded AF. For example, right now about 60% of people think a stimulus check is the answer to inflation.

Simple. It exponentially increases the number of pieces of information you receive. Then you yes you repeat you they're the responsibility for applying critical thinking to those pieces of information and determining what is most likely accurate. If you don't have that ability then it really doesn't matter who you listen to Because all you're going to be doing is being a parrot. You might be lucky and occasionally correct but you'll never know.
quote:in a single thread on this board if you get participation from the varied points of view that exists you will be pointed in the direction of more possible information then you probably even know what to do with. From there it's on you. On Any Given subject in a single thread on here you are liable to get links from CNN Fox and 15 other smaller sources along with multiple claims of fact that you can look up and verify or disprove. You can do more in 30 minutes on a thread in here then you could do all day bouncing Network to network

If you and I were both tasked with solving an extremely complex problem and they offered to give one of us the 10 brightest people on the planet and the other of us 50,000 above average people I'm taking the 50,000 people every f****** time and I'm going to kick your arse repeatedly.

I know it can work, but who’s going to filter it to find the one good one? Inside that filtering is where bias comes in. The other way is to use quantity and let the crowd determine accuracy, but as you pointed out there are hundreds of idiotic ideas.
There’s a big difference a team with a determined scope crowd sourcing a solution versus millions of unstructured pieces of news being filtered and qualified daily.

It was losing tons of money already.
Getting small amounts of money from a ton of people every month is not chump change. How do you think TV networks, Netflix, etc operate?

You are confused because you never get deeper than taking someone's word for it.
Almost all subjects result in facts and details being readily available.
