I expect the left to "go start their own Twitter"

Obviously we were never going to be allowed to mainstream a Twitter competitor. Go start your own (and we'll brand it a hate platform and block you from the appstores, ban you from host servers, debank your financing)
Now for the left, I don't think such competitive barriers exist. I anticipate some billionaire activists (Bezos/Amazon Gates/Microsoft Soros) can plant some seed money, hire Twitters soon to be laid off work force, buy off blue check celebrity social influencers to denounce Twitter and encourage everyone to join them on _______, MSM pushes the narrative that people that matter are moving to ______ leaving doubts as to the future of Twitter, Concern troll stories about Twitter increasingly becoming a platform for hate and extremist conduct, advertisers are spooked/pressured to leave Twitter, Twitter is branded as an extremist platform and blacklisted in the app stores etc etc.
I don't think it's far fetched at all. Control of the narrative and silencing of dissent is everything to the Democrat establishment. If they can't ban you and brand you as an extremist, what else do they have? I believe these people absolutely have to regain control of their propaganda machine.

Twitter has way too much skin in the game. Some leftists will boycott Twitter then find they don’t have a voice anywhere else, maybe even start another platform, once it fails, they’ll be back in droves.

Your premise is flawed in that you believe leftists actually want to get out there and create something of their own. They don’t. They would much rather someone else put in all the effort and then take it over like they do everything else. Take CNN for example, they didn’t create it but look at what they managed to do it. Same with Twitter. Twitter wasn’t created as an outlet for left wing lunatics but it didn’t take them long to turn it into what it became.

Musk is getting the Paypal guys back together, and Jack Dorsey is helping now - they'll introduce payment systems using crypto and combine paypal with twitter functionalities.

They have the resources to do it.
Google alone could do it but it might a consortium of liberal tech companies to put it together.
