re: What was “the incident” at your high school?

McKinley Middle, late 90’s…had two kids hang themselves. Supposedly some suicide pact. Then another guy, little while later, maybe the summer, can’t quite remember…hung himself too.

Was pretty traumatizing for the whole school. I’m sure someone else here was there for that.

I'm pretty sure I know exactly what school you are talking about. My best friend growing up went to your school. There were also a few kids from the neighborhood who went there. They used to talk about that "very popular" teacher back in the 80s. It seemed to be common knowledge that she had been "friendly" with many athletes over the years. I always thought they were just spreading rumors or were just engaging in wishful thinking. Then the story broke 30 years later on WWL.

I also remember "teasing" them unmercifully when we were in the 7th or 8th grade when their head football coach got caught propositioning a black, male vice officer in a XXX-rated movie theater.

Not sure how old you are, but at EHS circa 96ish, my homeroom science teacher was murdered. Never heard what happened in the case but I don’t remember ever hearing them get convicted. Gay guy who got picked up at some club over a weekend. Remember sitting in 5th grade home room and he didn’t show up one Monday and everyone was confused.

When I was in 8th grade my parents bought a house and we moved across town. The previous owners were the parents of the high school AP History teacher. He was a big hairy Jewish guy.

Well about a year after we moved in, me and a buddy were up in the attic (big walk in type since the house was built in 1895) sharing a cigarette because we thought we were awesome. There was an old fireplace that had long been plugged and we noticed a big Folgers can. Inside were some old joint roaches and a few pictures of our esteemed AP History teacher wearing nothing but a feather boa with his arm around some woman. Of course my friend went and told everyone immediately and everyone in school started asking the guy if he liked dressing up in feather boas.

He never questioned me about it and he knew that I lived in his old house.

Absolutely know that incident! LOL One of them bastards exposed me and my family to TB and all had to get tested

When I was a junior, a senior couple got pregnant and somehow kept it hidden, even from their parents, all year. The girl just wore super baggy clothes all year and cheered, played basketball, etc. then had the baby like a week before graduation… They got married, living a good life, kid just graduated from the same school.

This happened after my time, but the biology teacher/football team trainer turned out to be a homosexual peeping tom. For like 25 years, he opened his home to kids who didn’t live in town to let them sleep there, come change after football practice, etc. It was just a hang out for a lot of boys to play ping pong, and video games, then stay for the night so they didn’t have to drive home in the dark. Parents were cool with it because the guy was heavily involved in his church, had a no drinking or tobacco policy, and would do a bible study.

A kid finally noticed a tiny hole in the wall of the bathroom and turns out it shared a wall with a closet and the guy would go watch the kids shower, piss, shite, beat off.

Luckily, we lived down the street, so I was never over there much. Think I peed like one time in that house and he wasn’t there, but I’d guess 50+% of the athletes for 25 years spent a high percentage of leisure time during the week over there.

Were they able to reattach your hand?

Which Science teacher? I remember the morning we heard about Clay and his parents.
