CBK seems to have the team progressing faster than most people thought. Only 1 rough game so far against a really good TN team.

Full disclosure, I am an ND alum and preferred that he stayed at ND, while some wanted him gone for failing to win the big games vs AL, UGA, Clemson... I am actually rooting for him and the Tigers.

What are your thoughts on the Alabama game? From an outsiders perspective, it looks winnable.

IMO LSU would win 3 out of 10 games versus Alabama. So there is a chance.

Jayden would need to play out of his mind.

Our crowd will need to effect the game.

We would need to have more points than bama when the clock strikes 00:00 after the 4th to win.

This is a ND issue, not a Kelly issue. High academic standards, doesn’t put football first (not that there’s anything wrong with that, but don’t expect nattys without putting a ton of resources into it). Don’t expect to win off of prestige and history alone.

Yes he’s doing great here, and will continue to do great. Alabama is a step ahead of LSU right now but hey, you never know. We will be competing with them every year soon…

Kelly has total buy in from school, coaches and players. This team needed his skillset to provide structure and accountability based on past coach. LSU has unlimited potential and yes they always believe they can beat Bama and this year we feel like Bama is beatable but you have to match them blow for blow. He is building the teak from the inside out: lots of positive vibes right now. Thank you being real and objective

I'd say that is a pretty accurate assessment.

He gets an A- so far. There are still 5 games to be played (maybe 6!) so we will see how that changes. Only real negatives are: Special Teams play, we are not a top 100 ST team, and slow starts

We need the refs to not dictate the game in favor of BAMA.

Agree. Possible, but easier said than done. I roll my eyes reading all of those threads about running the table and getting to the playoffs. Lots of work before any of that, and we lack real depth on many skilled positions. Coaching, conditioning, and effort are there.

Agree - that is an ND issue and the Administration is not willing to fully commit to football excellence

Alabama is in a league by itself. While I see LSU improving steadily, they're not ready for prime time against Bama.

Trifeca. Georgia, Tennessee, and Bama for the SEC Championship. In that order.

There is an advantage for Bama from a personnel perspective in that there are more players there that were rated 5* and 4*. That being said, only 11 at a time on the field for each somewhat cancels that… unless injuries happen. Our starters performances have not been that far off with maybe a few exceptions. RB & QB for Bama have had better success…..barring injuries. So it becomes a game of managing plays and the players. I personally don’t think there is much of an advantage for Bama with head coach or assistants….except maybe special teams. It will be an interesting match up this year and the ones to follow.

We will find out if Tennessee was a mirage or if we are still not ready for top tier teams. This will be a great barometer of our progress.

With that said… we win in a nail-biter at home!

First of all, welcome.

LSU wins IF Daniels can execute unlike he has heretofore i.e. find open receivers down field and deliver an accurate ball on time. It’s as simple as that. I will assume, perhaps at some risk, that ST does not screw that pooch at all and the defense minimizes big mistakes.

I think we’ll not only be competing, but we’ll be leaving them in the dust as soon as next year, latest by 2024. Saban’s on his last leg. Other teams are getting better. His team is unfocused and undisciplined compared to other Saban teams. Dude can’t coach forever.

Keep Gibbs from having a huge game and help with #31 and it’s very doable. Their WRs aren’t as scary as in the past..very good..but not scary.

You would be amazed if you could go back and read the scoreboard during the FSU or Tenn game. People were ready to run BK out of town and swore he was the worst hire ever.

And it might happen again if Bama whips or arse.
I prefer to look at the whole season before getting too excited or down.
