I mean they gave up 200+ yds and 5 tds to one receber receiver so maybe depth won't matter that much after all lol

False. It certainly helps that the offense is coming around, but the porous secondary and bad tackling will lose games to Alabama and Ole Miss.

Bama? Probably.

Ole Miss? Doubt they beat us.
They have a defense worse than any we’ve faced so far. Auburn ran it down their throats. AUBURN!!!! Who have they played worth a shite? They barely beat a highly overrated Kentucky. LSU is going to win that game unless some very unlucky events occur.

We almost beat Bama at their place last year. Lot of you forget this

Those were different teams and a different coaching staff for LSU.

Anytime you have a QB playing well you have a chance. But lost at bit in the win is that the same issues that have been present in all games this year were present again. The poor special teams play gave Florida short fields, helping the get 14 points. The defense also struggled, again, to start the game. The ONLY difference between the games vs. Auburn, Tennessee and Mississippi St. was the offense was clicking in the first half for the first time this season against a P5 opponent.

Constantly having big special teams issues and the defense starting slowly puts a ton of stress on the the other units to be good. If/when LSU puts together a complete game they will be very tough to beat.

They just passed for 130 yards vs Auburn at home.

Is that supposed to be impressive?

Tennessee gave up 33 points to Florida, and won by five... You just have to outscore them, you aren't going to hold talented SEC offenses to less than 20 points very often.

I'd like to believe they could.

But I don't see many teams coached by someone like Sunbelt Billy left on the schedule.

Well, maybe aTm.

Hell Ole Miss couldn’t even hold a bad Auburn offense to less than 30 points.

No, aTm’s coach is worse. I’d much rather have Napier and I think he’s an average coach at best.

No it’s not. It supposed To illustrate the fact that they are a running team.

While I have no argument on the tackling, as it has been atrocious the last couple of games.

I think a big reason why our secondary has been so bad, our d-line which was supposed to be one of the best position groups on our team, has been underwhelming at best.

Yes yes I know losing Smith was a big blow, but apart from Ojulari, none of the other guys have seemed to make that next step.

Gaye and Roy imo have gotten worse since last year. We aren’t getting consistent pressure on the QB. Any SEC caliber QB that has all day is going to pick apart a secondary no matter how good they are.

It all starts up front. Our O line made massive strides against Florida, it’s time for the big boys up front on defense to take that next step.
