2011 - Lee led the SEC until that AL game then got benched for good.
Miles never even gave us a chance in that rematch. Still say he should have put Lee in a deep shotgun and aired it out after the 3rd series.

How did the Alabama run game look? It’s the o-line, the scheme, and the QB. Not just the QB.
51 carries for 288 yards with 5.6 avg (Gibbs rushed for 154 yards at 7.3 avg). Their o-line and running back carried them with their starting QB out and the backup QB only passing for 111 yards with a 5.8 avg ypc. In contrast, Daniels 38 yards led all rushers while completing 71% for 300 yards Also, Tennessee’s running game accounted for 186 yards from their running backs.

The defensive scheme is world’s apart for someone like JD5 who cannot play a lick and a QB who can take the top off the defense. This adversely affects everything the offense may attempt as the players across the line have no fear of an impotent QB. Do you see that? An awful QB changes everything.
If BK won’t play Nuss to see what he can do, then shame be on him.

It’s both. Why is that hard to say?
There is no way anyone can say both, until we see another QB with a true passing scheme. The comparison to Bama illustrates the OLine is not to blame, with a limited QB running the offense

6 seconds. LOL
He is usually moved out of his pocket in under 2 seconds, max 3.
It is all a combination of poor pass blocking, poor play structure, such that there is rarely a safety valve that could be used to salvage some plays rather than a sack, poor vision by the QB, and complete lack of creativity by the OC to make the defense at least wonder if they are being tricked.
All of the above adds up to a pathetic offense.
Start with any one of these areas to improve, but they all work together. Any area is only good as its weakest link, and LSU has several. It is going to be a long climb back up the ladder.

Denbrock is bad
Outiside of running Boutte on a jet sweep in one game lol, there’s been no adjustment with his game plan/scheme. His inability to get the WRs involved and zero running game laughable.

It’s definitely both

Many plays it's like the push actually comes from the DL.
Unfortunately, my eval from last season about Turner's physicality in the middle of the line is still accurate.

Denbrock and Kelly are just learning about what makes the SEC different. We won’t know until the off-season what scheme adjustments will be made. A viable running game has to be at the top of that list though. They will have a bye week to make some changes in a couple of weeks.

Excellent post. They will try to argue but it starts and ends with the QB and their ability to recognize and react. Why the hell do you think they are trying to get the ball out quick? Kelly has said he doesn’t want Daniels reading. He is coaching a basketball team mentality because there is little strategy in that sport. It is all reaction and athleticism.
To the “scheme” idiots, WTH do you think they are doing with a 1 dimensional player? The opposing defenses are allowing him to sit and try to throw open someone and putting 7 in coverage with a spy on him. It is Johnny Manzieling him but he has less talent. To the Oline idiots I GUARANTEE you they will not go back and count the number of times he had more than 4 seconds to throw because that was SEVERAL. That is not on the Oline. Every single time the announcers said he had good protection I was yelling just throwing the freaking ball or throw it away. Most of the time he didn’t do either.

Honestly I think it’s a bit of both the QB and WRs. Look at when he does have time no one is getting separation, the routes look lazy to me, and most times no one is actually looking for the ball. Some of this May be the route tree and scheme design but I bet a lot of it may be they get disinterested due to lack of targets. While the O-Line isn’t great we’ve had worse with better production over the last 10 years.

I agree.
Denbrock has never had a WR group like this and has no idea how to adjust on the fly to get them involved. He continues to attack the outside over running them on combo routes over the middle and keeps calling TE heavy sets.

For the last few years, fans keep saying we have no OL.
But they keep being drafted and making NFL rosters.
When we had a functional QB they became the top rated OL in the NCAA.
Someone posted yesterday that our talent is rated 8th.
Where does that leave coaching?
Someone is overrated.

How much time does a man need to learn? He’s had plenty of real world experience this year to know that what he is doing is failing.

in 2011 LSU had an undefeated season thru 9 games, and then Miles switched QBs. By the end of the year, the same OLine wasnt suddenly the reason the team couldnt move the ball. It was the new QB, who had passing games of 88, 67, 53, and 30 yards. The play calls were changed because of who was passing the ball
In 2011, Jordan Jefferson started the last three games of the regular season.
Those three games were the three best offensive games of the season.
It wasn't that one of Jefferson's games was better than one of Lee's games. It wasn't that the average of Jefferson's three starts was better than the average of Lee's starts. Every regular season game that Jefferson started was better than every regular season game that Lee started.
LSU's best rushing game happened when Jefferson started.
LSU's three best total offense games happened when Jefferson started.
LSU's best completion percentage game happened when Jefferson started.
In the nine games that Lee started during the regular season, LSU gained over 450 yards just once. Once: 453 yards (Jefferson got 68 of those yards). In the three games that Jefferson started during the regular season, LSU gained more than 450 yards in every game. Every game: 474, 458, and 494.

As usual, the point went over your head. Stopping defending JJ. I didnt even mention his name
Despite being benched Lee was named all SEC Sr. QB. The list included JJ. We saw Les get fired for his poor offenses, and saw how Kansas has advanced since he left. So Les padding stats to try and convince fans they were wrong about JJ, is worse than Kelly saying JD was a bright spot vs Tenn

QB obviously needs to see eye doctor
Can’t see beyond 20 yards

How do you know they don’t won’t to block for the QB? If you go the battle will you cover the 6 of a leader that you dislike? And don’t trust to lead you into battle?
