re: Show your level of delusion - what did you expect in yr 1 for BK? Even Saban went 7-6!?!

I expected the loses not the terrible game day coaching ! 10 million a year; somebody got ripped off potatoes!

I expected a team ready to play from the opening kickoff. It hasn’t happened yet. Is this an unreasonable expectation?

Odds are we end at 5-7 unless the offense develops a pulse.

I thought 7-6 but with almost every game very competitive. Possibly 8-4 if our PK was exceptional.
I'm looking at 5-7 right now. I just don't think doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is going to work. We all know what that is called.

This team lacks talent but also appears to be poorly prepared every week. That is not good.

Fair enough. Saban went 7-6 and Kirby went 8-5 in year 1
Fair to compare like y’all keep doing, but y’all better not shift the narrative next year
Kirby went 13-2 with an sec title and a national title game appearance in year 2
Saban went 10-3 with an SEC title in year 2
So most elite coaches are rolling by year 2. Let’s not shift the expectations for Kelly

Anything less than a Super Bowl win with a backup QB and I’m giving up my season tickets

I predicted 5-7, with 6-6 possible.
We're so thin at most positions. It is inevitable that injuries will take their toll.

Looks like 6-6 to me unless we get the OL healthy and get a running and passing game going. Ole Miss is like TN. Run and Gun with the pass. So is FL for that matter. Bama, loss. UAB win. TAM away will be a tough game also. Looks like they have a QB. I'm thinking we bounce back at FL, but the swamp is very tough no matter what kind of team FL has. We got humbled over the weekend and so did the coaches. We better do some soul searching and have a come to Jesus meeting or this could easily be 5-7. Right now our OL is beat up. Our OC seems to be in over his head. Special teams, I do not even want to go there. Half the season is over and I see no improvement at all. He needs to be shown the door. Time will tell and LSU coaches need to right the ship or this will get ugly fast.

The Tigers ain't going to win too many more games this year. Go tigers!

I expect us not to go down 2+ scores early in every game and be competent on special teams

I thought 8-4 would be a really good showing and realistic. I think that is still possible, but 7-5 is probably where it will be.

It's not fair to compare Saban and Smart to Kelly because neither coach had to deal with the mass exodus that Kelly came into.
Look at the bowl game vs Kansas State. Now lose a few players from that team and that's what Kelly was working with when he got here.
And it's not as simple as saying, "yeah but the transfer portal..." bullshite. The transfer portal is not top tier talent coming in. It's the clearance rack items from other teams.
I will be first in line to criticize Kelly if he's had a couple of seasons under his belt and has had two recruiting classes to build up his team but for now I refuse to criticize the guy because Coach O fricked him and fricked all of us with his bullshite.

Saban is forever always the comparison. I find it tiresome how everything is always compared to Saban. Not just with LSU fans. There is only 1 Saban. Just my thoughts.

Heupel is 6-0 in year two
Kiffin went 10-3 in year two
Pittman went 9-4 in year two.
The baseline talent here is much higher than what those three inherited.
There's literally no excuse for him not to right the ship next year. There's one big common thread though: QB play.

Transfer portal has generally been snake oil so far.

I had said 8 wins would be a miraculous turnaround and anything more, Kelly would be coach of the decade. Realistically LSU was looking at 5-7 wins maximum. I get there isn't much SEC talent here but, the coaching has been so BAD. Hiring two of his buddies to be coordinators was a horrible idea.

2019 was really good and so were the other 2 ++. So I am content for a while. Should have not paid so much to pry an Irishman named Kelly from Irish…Unless he really wanted to come

7-5 or 8-4 was/is doable
