Observations from the stadium

I traveled from Tennessee to bring my son to his first big LSU game. Infuriating experience to say the least.
1. Right from the start - when you have a TE and a walk on returning kicks, how bad is this roster?
2. The OL was inconsistent. I thought they gave time and Jayden can’t see a WR if he was carrying the Olympic torch. Other times he’s getting mauled. No running game.
3. Jayden is bad. Nuss is probably worse. I’ve accepted there is not an answer for this season. LSU will not beat teams with a good offense….because….
4. Our secondary is brutal. Maybe they can stick with bad offenses but every single time UT ran a long pass our DBs were beat. Every time.
5. Kayshon Boutte - Yes he’s open some times and JD misses him, but he has zero explosiveness. None. Zero. In his current state, he’s not a top drafted WR. We need to quit focusing on this.
6. I do think the coaching could be better in lots of spots, however my eyes saw a talent disparity from a team that is not really elite.
7. Rest of season - Florida, Arkansas, TAMU are all not good either so with UAB I see 5-7 to 8-4. I don’t see a win against Ole Miss or Bama.
Flame away!

Bech is a WR that Ed O moved to TE last year.

You have an upvote from me.
But much of this fan base thinks Boutte is Jordan Jefferson 2.0. He’s not,

Spot on analysis. Have an upvote.
LSU is just not that good. It’s a transition season, just like we thought.

Nice rational post
Only disagreement is that today you have to come a little harder on the coaching
It was really bad today and I’m still a big BK fan
But today he was bad

Boutte should and prob will quit tomorrow to concentrate on house draft stock.
No quarterback is going to succeed behind this line. Daniel's only real attribute, his elusiveness was useless today due to the line and speed of Tennessee defense. Brennan and nuss would've have been massacred today.
We need to be recruiting and shoring up our OL and secondary
Coordinators? Not really sure what to say here. If Tennessee isn't as good as they looked today then it's probably going to be a group execution at the end of the season

Not having him running slants/crosses/deep-ins is retarded. Boutte and Bech destroyed teams with those routes. Yet Denbrock is committed to running both of them on Comebacks/outs.

At this point, he is our fourth best wide receiver. That’s what his play has indicated. They need to stop forcing the ball to him.

Too many people drank the purple & gold kool-aide & refused to see this team was going to have issues this year. I am not surprised by this loss & expect to see a couple more like this as well. We simply do not have the talent this year & with OL injuries, JD has been further exposed. The receivers continue to drop passes & between route running & JD, don't know who should get the most blame. BK really needs to re-consider his offense going forward next season as well. At this point, a bowl game looks questionable, especially if we take a knock out blow from Florida next week. Just difficult to be optimistic at this point, we pretty much have seen JD as he will appear the rest of the season.

Post is 100% accurate. The MS and AU games were handed to us. This team is not very good and not on Par with upper SEC talent. It’s going to be a long season but I believe there are better days ahead under Kelley.

Not sure we can even compete with FL, Ark and ATM right now.
FL will be ready and may blow us out. Same with OM and AL.
4-5 with 4 embarrassing losses in a row and team may pack it in.

Zero explosion yet its already two years of it on tape with average QB play?
Why not just say you hate boutte?

My biggest issue was watching us make mistakes and beating ourselves. Special teams practically spotted them a 10 point lead to start the game. Took us a minute after that but we were starting to get into a groove going into halftime 20-7, down 2 scores. Decision to go for it with 30 seconds left is unacceptable and practically ended the game.
We had to play to the best of our abilities to have a chance and we were nowhere close. Lots of mistakes and missed opportunities from the players and coaching staff alike that put it is into a tough spot against a very good team.

Maybe just enjoy the fact that you were able to bring your son to see a big game in Tiger Stadium?
