First off, no expert on lawn care here and I have put my trust in some very knowledgable people on this forum for my lawn care.

Recently, late June, had a new centipede sod lawn installed and with all the rain, was doing great! The drought has taken a toll on the grass in the areas directly surrounding the oak trees on my lot. We have consistently watered the last couple weeks at the first sign of distress. We watered approx. 20 to 30 minutes at a time with oscillating sprinklers until the lawn had gotten some water. The only areas that seemed to benefit from this watering duration were in the lower areas and areas outside of the tree canopies. Just last week I increased the watering duration to 45 minutes in the areas under the trees and have seen more green show in these areas now. So 45 minute soaking seems to work best in the most stressed areas of my lawn and 20 minute watering in the lower areas outside of the tree canopy. Good luck!
