Recently watched Untold: Flagrant Foul on Netflix.
An nba ref exposed how in prep for games, they would be told to watch for/crack down on certain calls. They were also allegedly told to not make calls on the superstars because it was better for the game. Another situation with Allen Iverson, iverson and a ref got into it in a past game, so the entire crew called a carry every single time it was questionable. They were also given direction to call games in playoff series in a way that could extend the series.
This ref was funneling this information on which way to bet on games, and he was caught.
The calls weren’t egregious, he actually graded out as a top 3 nba ref. He was doing as he was told and calling games the way he was instructed.
Take that as you will, but I think there’s certainly influence. There’s too much money involved for there not to be.

As someone who has watched SEC football for 30 years, the refs know where their bread is buttered and they all want to he retained for that cushy $100,000+ side gig.
Not saying they purposefully cheat for Bama in Tuscaloosa, but it's always super egregious crap.
SEC offices need to be moved out of Birmingham.

I think they call those "points of emphasis" for NFL games.

Almost everything Donaghy said in that documentary is a documented, proven, and long established fabrication to make himself look better lol.
