American taxpayer money
The US is currently paying for arming Ukraine, AND upgrading the arsenals of Eastern Europe. The scale is unprecedented and I have no doubts the corruption and theivery is unprecedented as well.

I'm much more concerned with this. If our politicians weren't pissing away money on Ukraine it would be pissed away on something else. Not one US boot should be needed to defend Europe.

Vlad Putin sees the War in Ukraine as a referendum on the survival of Russia. He has no intention of losing this war. He will pull the nuclear trigger if necessary. A sort of insane mentality - I'll vaporize the West with me. Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) becomes a reality.
I wish it weren't so, but increasingly I see the unthinkable happening.
God help us.
So, given your theory, as I asked in OP, is there ever a justification for opposing Russian aggression?

Lol. Classic OML reply, down to the 'I'm sorry.' Jesus you are so deluded.

g. So every Ukrainian needs to die so that the American political class can stop Putin because of some geopolitical chess match?
I mean Ukraine is clearly willing to fight Russia
Like I said, you're coming at this whole thing from impossible standards and from angles outside of reality.
Or, do you think that all those idiot Ukrainians shouldn't have a desire to protect their homeland from unprovoked aggression and/or ask for assistance doing so?

Idc. I'm not emotionally invested in either country.
I used to be a Carolina Panthers fan back when I still liked the NFL. To me, the Ukraine/Russia shite is akin to when I used to watch two horrible teams in the AFC play each other. Like, those games had nothing to do with the panthers, the Panthers' division, or the NFC. They weren't even the decent teams of the AFC. So.. I didn't care.
As for the lives lost in the war, I'm indifferent. It's like if I was tragically killed, people in Ukraine wouldn't give a flying frick, they don't know me. If we invested emotions into every tragedy in the world, we would collapse.

That's a bad analogy because if Russia wins, it will affect you. This whole mindset is built on a lie that, just because this is happening in eastern Europe, that it won't affect the US.

They can't fundamentally understand that the process of globalization is basically complete. It truly is a global village. The whole 'globalism' nonsense is far more about who controls global apparatus than it is about fighting against globalization itself.

And what if they don't? The poster literally said the US should fight to the last Ukrainian. So if they eventually want to talk peace to the end the war, will we let them? I think the answer is no, which shows we care about their lives as little as the Russians do. This is a political game for those in the Beltway.

ETA - I should add that I find this disgusting, but the government loves the drug war just like they love other wars. Have to have something out there after pot is legalized.

It's not even that drastic.
They wan to stop "globalism" and think that it can happen immediately somehow. They're ignorant how ingrained it is (which is what you're saying just not as definite).

That depends on if they're demanding actions that we weren't allowed to negotiate on, like that deal the UK scuttled in April.
If Ukraine negotiates their own deal that doesn't require US intervention, then we likely won't. Of course many posters on here will refuse to believe this, and those same people will also claim the CIA/US is the party who actually launched nukes after Russia does it.
Posted on 10/2/22 at 2:36 pm to SlowFlowPro
We're going to be affected no matter who wins. Ukraine wins, and we'll still smother Russia with restrictions and sanctions in order to isolate them. We may even start targeting countries that aided Russia during the war. There will still be massive aid packages being sent to Ukraine on a regular basis if they win.
We're damned either way. So why worry? Why emotionally invest? Worrying won't change shite because we've zero power to change shite. So, my analogy isn't bad if you accept that we're powerless, and are just treating it as a boring pastime.

What did they demand that was so awful to stop a deal and force war

They negotiated security guarantees, iirc, from US/UK without, you know, asking us if we were OK with it.

It's always 1938 to the empire simps. The collective west is risking economic suicide over freaking Ukraine. It's crazy to watch.

Does Caitilin blame Russia for invading Ukraine, or does she try to blame the West/US or give Russia blame with a "yea but"?
Posted on 10/2/22 at 2:49 pm to SlowFlowPro
No all they negotiated was land and Ukraine not joining Nato
End of story and no war
Others decided against that and now here you are supporting/defending war
But muh putin. Its sad how much of a number the media has done on ppl about Prussia
