quote:

You normalize your sin every day by continuing in sin. Or do you spend hours weeping over how you've fallen short of the glory of GOD? Or do you not understand the nature and depth of sin? To say a gay man has normalized sin and is not aware of his sin would be the same condemnation to millions of Christians who daily gossip, lie, commit adult, etc. I, as Peter, understand I am a chief sinner and give glory to GOD for HIS FINISHED WORK on the cross.

As a slave of Jesus Christ, some of what you write I agree with. I wept tears of joy when Jesus saved me 50+ years ago. His grace still amazes me. And I strive to maintain a clear conscience, live holy, and walk blamelessly after my Lord today. When I sin, I try to confess it and He forgives me (1 Jn. 1:9).

But there is an eternal world of difference between the believer following Jesus and stumbling along the way and someone who willfully rejects Jesus and walks in the opposite direction.

Is anyone saying homosexuals can't repent and come to Jesus if the Holy Spirit draws them? Rather, it is the commercial that presents homosexuality as normalized, i.e., not even a sin that needs to be repented of. Do you believe that?

I'm not proposing that my sins should be normalized and made into prime-time TV commercials. On the contrary, that they should be repented of, confessed, put under the blood of Jesus, and removed as far as the east is from the west. In what world do my weaknesses give license to destroy all moral standards?

No I do not approve of the commercial either. But there is this climate of attacking homosexuality as if it is a chief sin. It happens in the church also. Why? Because most people aren't gay so the easy target is homosexuality. People, even Christians, don't understand the nature and depth of sin. The "I don't cuss, I'm not gay, I don't steal, therefore I'm a pretty good guy" mentality is common in the church. So my point is not to approve of the commercial, I didn't care for it either, but to show the hipocracy .
We have no problem with violence and profanity daily on television but we don't want to see those gays.
I have several gay friends, Trump voters, NRA
members, social conservatives, who are Christian. The stereotype that most folks have in their mind of gays, is very distorted. Are there perverts? Yes and there are perverted heterosexuals. I believe the mercy of GOD is much more than many Christians realize. Many gay men live quiet lives with each other, don't flaunt their homosexuality and love Jesus. I have no problem with them and am happy to call them friends.
