The point is the spending you think is useful in Kansas is dwarfed by the amount of military spending that goes overseas and into black holes. That's the point.

I was a regular street medic from 04-14 and remember several suicides from Iraq/Afghanistan war vets. Had a lot of calls that were also attempted suicides or depression. Also just the toll of being gone so long and missing out so much with family and friends. Seems cool when young. shite being a medic seemed like a good idea, was a retarded idea

So, once again, we've circled back around to your issue being about utilization rather than usefulness.

Just say that. It's weird not to.

No, the trillions wasted isn't useful to anyone other than contractors.

And you think that goes to the military, somehow?

Who else operates and uses it?

Military spending is the biggest pork in the budget.

Uses what? Are you implying we shouldn't maintain military superiority?

Either way, what does that have to do with overseas contractor money?

I'm not sure you really know what you're opposed to.

I think the problem is you still don't understand why I even made my comment in the first place.

That isn't it.

The best you can hope for at this point is to just accept that you've done a terrible job articulating your argument.

It is. You can make a very good living using the military. You can go in at 18, do 20 yrs and get out with a retirement and another $3.5k(tax free) from the VA. So at age 38, you can sit at home bringing in $5.5k+. Get another government job at 38 and make even more money.

It's pretty simple. No idea why you've wanted to go down this rabbit hole.

at minimum they deserve free private healthcare for their families. Having to deal with the VA on anything is a complete joke.

This. I have a 92 year old uncle in a nursing home. We are trying to get the Aid and Attendance benefit for him to help pay for his care. This man served in Korea and Vietnam and dedicated his life to serving this country. It should be a rubber stamp for him to get the benefit which is a paltry $2k a month. You would not believe the amount of red tape and monumental amount of paperwork required to get the benefit. Shame on our country for how those who served are treated.

Well, it started with your incorrect assertion that the military doesn't "perform services in this country."

You kept trying to get out of that incorrect assertion, and here we are.

Ok, I'll reword it to say that the police and EMS provide services primarily to this country and the military primarily doesn't. Hence, a false equivalence.

Does that sooth you?

It’s a job and you did it. Not for free but for some compensation.

You ever had to live at your job for a year without going home, working a few days at a time without sleep, eating moldy food, doing shite that could get you killed at any given time, while making $30k/yr... and you cant quit without fricking up the rest of your life? Yeah I didn't think so.

To call the military a "job" is fricking laughable.

I don't get this stance either.

Did anyone hold a gun to your head and make you sign up? Were you not aware of the requirements when you did it?

And it's weird this argument often comes from the same crowd as the "no one wants to accept personal responsibility" stance.

I don't really care what you do, but you were wrong. It's weird that it took you this long to accept it.

Weird thing to say when you spent 3 pages or so arguing about my wording.

Pointing out that you were wrong doesn't mean that I care if you admit it. You could've kept going for 20 years for all I care.
