We can ride this defense to wins. Offense is improving. The West is wide open.

Dylan Sanders via Twitter- “ Interesting note:

So far this season, facing a similar strength of schedule, #LSU has only allowed 3 more yards than Georgia.

This defense is as real as it gets.”

Our defense is good enough to matchup with any SEC offenses. We need our offense to do their job and to continue to improve week to week and the sky is the limit.

Let’s begin the road against Auburn and not look back.

This was essentially Les Miles MO. Nasty defense and chew clock with the run.

Ask Les Miles about riding a defense to win, hell yes, LSU can do that in 2022.

We'll see against Tenn if we've fixed our issues with stopping the running passer. Hooker is good. Richardson at UF seems to be a lesser version of him. TN will be a good measuring stick.

No team on our schedule is unbeatable.

Statistically, our defense is right there with Alabama and Georgia.

We will know more after the next 4 games.

This offense has been and will be much better than anything Les Miles ever dreamed of putting together.

Can we get by Auburn 1st? Those games are normally closer than they should be.

I think we have. In comparison to the FSU game , our defense seems to be in much better position to make plays. We were woefully out of position much of the time to make plays vs FSU. Poor tackling and being out of position are killers. I think the scheme was there we just didn't execute. Looking at the last 3 games it appears that we have improved significantly. Hopefully that trend continues .

Have y'all started thinking about how we are going to match up against A&M yet?? What about a bowl game?

LSU will need all three phases to win in the SEC. Special Teams has to improve, or will costs us games.

We will know a lot more about the consistency of this team after this weekend. IMO, we should beat Auburn by at least 14 points.

If we do, I think we have a shot to win every game this year. I don't think we will win every game, but I think we have a team that could conceivably beat every team on the schedule on any given Saturday.

If its a close game or (God forbid) we lose, I think that tells us that we will be another 6-6 team and the rst of this year will be an up and down struggle like 2020 and 2021.

My gut and my heart tell me that the 2022 LSU tigers are the team in the first scenario but the scars of the past 2 years make me worry its fools gold and we are the same team we have been recently.

I also don't think they knew what their best combo of guys was yet. Perkins didn't play much (if at all), Ward was at FS, and Mike Jones was expected to be the alpha mike LB and he seems to play sparingly now.

If they handle Auburn this week and can do something against the #1 offense in the country in Tennessee, ill fully buy into this. Right now im content with a solid defense with a lot of potential.

You boys need to come back to reality. Let's win a few more SEC games before we start saying we can contend for the west

Unless our ST improves it will cost us a game or 2.

We never had to worry about missed field goals/blocked until this season.

The penalties on kickoff put defense in bad position.

Bech now returning adds something. Hopefully they move him to kickoff returns as well.

I agree, not because LSU is so strong, but I haven't been impressed with any of the SEC teams offensively except UT. But UT defense is suspect.
