Based on the current path, I would expect to see Atlanta added in here for later in the week.

It is possible Atlanta wont catch much of an impact. It wont be much of anything when it gets up there.

I dont know how conservative airlines are with these decisions though.

I'm supposed to fly into FLL on 10/1 morning for a cruise. At this point, I hope both get cancelled.

Winds won't be bad in ATL? Guess the shear really is that strong. I'll keep an eye out and update accordingly

Looking at some stuff tonight, could see some decent wind through Atlanta (not like for the world but for planes) from a tight pressure gradient well ahead of the storm.

I’m flying through Atlanta Friday (coming home from Amsterdam). Any recommendations on what I can do to proactively prevent travel issues? Look for an alternate flight I’m assuming is best?

Where are you trying to get to as a final destination? Winds (17mph sustained) plus rain for Atlanta on Friday won't make it a fun connecting airport. Wonder if we can reroute you through another airport like DTW, JFK, BOS, or MSP if the waiver gets updated for ATL

Question for the experts:

Wife has a flight from MSY to Miami and then a connection to St Martin for a bachelorette party on Friday. It leaves MsY Friday morning.

I believe plane goes Kansas to Miami on Thursday morning, Miami to MSY on Thursday night, and then her flight MSY to Miami on Friday.

What are the chances these flights go based on current info.

Changing flights would be pretty difficult as there are very few flights to St Martin

Her only option is to fly through Miami on AA. Just went and double checked, don't even see a Charlotte to St Martin flight for sale on Friday. Miami looks okay weather wise on Friday so unless AA cancels her flight on Thursday night then she should be good to go. If it's delayed getting into miami she's also screwed by a day unless she flies out Thursday night to Miami, spends the night in a hotel, and continues on Friday.

Tough situation with only one flight a day and it's early

Hi Cuse,

The wife had to cancel flights with United to Tampa (Fresno to Denver for layover) that were scheduled to this Saturday. From what I was told she was only allowed a "future flight credit" on an upcoming flight but they wouldn't give her the whole balance of what she paid & she'll have to pay a rescheduling fee for when she does end up going out there.

Is there anything she can do to recoup the $285 for seat upgrades that they're keeping and can she avoid getting hit with rescheduling fees when the time comes? Thanks.

Did she cancel online or on the phone? Cancelling online from the waiver should give you the full credit back to use. There will be no fees when rebooking at a later date from what I understand, sounds like a bad agent.

Seat fees are a different story, I'm not sure what United's rules are in regards to being refundable vs nonrefundable.

Well just diving into MIA's situation as I've been stuck at work all day. First thing I see on flightaware
quote:

Miami Intl (KMIA) is currently experiencing departure delays of 46 minutes to 1 hours (and increasing) due to tornado and hurricane.

I'd say it's not going great for Miami or Ft Lauderdale. Never seen a hurricane and tornado warning at the same time

Whoever is flying tomorrow needs to seriously contemplate rebooking through another airport.

Can I interest you in a 6:15am Cincy-Minneapolis with a 2.5 hr layover - Nola option or the 6:02am CVG-Detroit-Nola option?

Your best bet is actually a 8:15am to Salt Lake City connecting to an 11:35am to MSY. It won't show up until the waiver posts for atlanta and you may need to call to get those flights as it looks like SLC is an illegal connecting point for CVG-MSY on Delta. For now I'd probably stick with it but if you get really stuck then aim for salt lake
