I tell you what I'd do after Winston throws his first interception...I'd bench him and put Andy Dalton behind center!
Nothing nefarious about it, nothing to do with race...simply using all the tools in our toolbox to get a win.
Winston has shown moments of brilliance in regard to his accuracy & decisions for only one quarter of play since the season began. That's not consistent enough to be a starter in the NFL and go against elite opposition.

So if he’s thrown 3tds then a pick you’re gonna bench him? Little confused.

We can't afford to lose another division game to a team that on paper, shouldn't beat us. If he is not playing at a level to simply manage the game, pull him and move on.

No, not in the scenario you described. My thoughts were if he should start falling into a funk with all the interception problems playing with his head and throws an interception early on before making any good plays.
Then, yes...I would immediately bench him!

Winston's play has been fine when he can take the short/intermediate throws and can sprinkle in deep shots. Its when he starts to press and just goes complete gunslinger that he consistently makes bad decisions in that mode. Interceptions are going to happen but he still needs to figure out that he doesn't need to play hero ball.

The turning point of that game was Ingram's fumble coupled with the refs sustaining the subsequent Bucs drive. After that, Winston tried to play hero ball and the game got away from him. It sucks, but I can't say the Bucs are a better team than us at this point.

Most of his deep throws, I guess the ones you refer to as him playing hero ball, are off the mark. He isn't very accurate most of the time on those shots.

Damn, drew brees would have never stood a chance with you, would he?

Through first 2 games in 2006 Brees (first season with Saints, his start in 07 was actually much worse)

Game 1 16/30 53.33% 170 yards 1 TD 1 Int 0 FL
Game 2 26/41 63.41% 353 yards 2 TD 1 Int 2 FL

Jameis this season

Game 1 23/34 67.65% 269 yards 2 TD 0 Int 0 FL
Game 2 25/40 62.50 % 236 Yards 1 TD 3 Int 0 FL

You don’t prep all off-season just to yank him in game 3.

I’d start Dalton, then put in Jameis if he struggles.

You’re missing a huge factor that Pete hasn’t been calling a good offense this season except for a handful of drives.

He needs to get his head in the game and get back to being sneaky Pete like in 2011-2012 or Winston is not going to thrive like most of know he can.

Coach and QB1 need to be on a certain level together and they’re not there yet.

The implication being that on paper this team has already lost to a division opponent that should not have beat them? Last I checked Saints beat Atl & TB has a pretty talented team

Tampa is the only team in our division that can play with us. If we play to our "potential", they shouldn't either. We should not have lost to Tampa but we did b/c our offense was poor. We almost lost to Atl barring a 4th qtr for the ages.

It’s honestly par for the course. Every single year by week two people were screaming to fire Payton.

It’s honestly hilarious because the actual experts who cover the team would laugh their asses off at how bad some of our moronic fans takes are.

The way this season is going around the league, it is probably ranked 3rd for great finishes so far this season and it's only been 2 weeks.

Also, devils advocate, if not for the 2nd quarter of that game it's a 10-10 game going into the 4th.

Hell, as bad as the offense has looked, the team is an Olave stumble away from being down 3 points with 2 1/2 minutes and a timeout. If TB comes out conservative, Saints get the ball w/ 1:15 left to drive to get inside the 40 for a shot at a FG to tie

Its easy to call plays when you have Young Drew making you look good.
