2019 OL. Awhile back..............

Experts on the Rant were claiming it was below average and Joe was the reason they won the award for best OL. So lets review how they are doing in the NFL.
Cushenberry starting center Broncos since Rookie.
Damien Lewis starting OG Seahawks since Rookie.
Saahdiq Charles OT2 Redskins. Has started on and off.
Ed Ingram starting OG Vikings Rookie.
Austin Deculus OT2 Texans Rookie.
Chansen Hines OG2 Patriots Rookie.
Seems like one helluva an OL and I'd love to know if any other college has had an OL do so well so quickly in the NFL.
Bottomline while Joe was clearly the catalyst we had one helluva an incredible offense. Not sure if y'all know that Chase and Jefferson are doing "ok" in the NFL and Clyde is doing well as RB1 for Chiefs. Marshall is WR2 for Panthers and even Sullivan made the Panthers active roster.

I've been saying since that year that Cushenberry was just as big of a loss to the program as Burrow

Joe would love to have that O-line right now.

Think I’d rather Burrow back than Cush tbh

No way dude. The 2019 success is all because of Joe Brady, not Joe Burrow or any1 else. In fact, if Joe Brady was still at LSu this year, they would go ahead and give Daniels the Heisman now. Why wait?

Never said I wanted Cush back more. Just saying he was a huge loss.

And I've been saying that line was very good since 2018.

They were elite as individuals but not as a unit. It actually shows how impressively bad James cregg was

OMG even when faced with objective evidence still deny. Please stop watching the commentary news its warping your brain. Spin anything to prove your pre-existing beliefs. Why did they win the award for best OL? And are you saying that all these elite individuals when you put them together they sucked? I remember holes so big freight trains could go through them. I remember Tyrion's TD run against Florida he was a freshman. I also remember Joe having all day to throw and just picking apart defenses. BTW Joe would kill for these elite individuals now. God help these people.

People forget just how good Adrian Magee was for that OL.

Lol, you ok?
I am basing my opinion off of objective evidence.
Pff rank: 30
Line yds rank: 9
Std downs yds rank: 4
Pass down line yds rank: 68
Power success rank: 18
Stuff rate rank: 45
Sack rate: 64
Std downs sack rate: 82
How is that for objective evidence? Just because you are holding on to some fairy tale memory does not make it true. 2019 offensive line severely underperformed considering their talent level.

From PFF
“It's amazing to consider that the LSU offensive line is the weakest unit of their entire team, yet they still rank where they do here. They're bolstered by the interior of their line where Lewis and Adrian Magee are quite the duo. They've struggled at times with consistency in pass protection, but that's been long forgotten due to Joe Burrow's historic play under pressure this season.”

They were also a bad unit in 2018 (one of the worst in the SEC) until we started getting the ball out quickly. Joe burrow and quick passes made them look much better than the OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE clearly showed. My point remains, they severely underperformed given their talent.

I'll tell you what... I miss Sullivan. Dude was a beast

I always felt that OL had pretty decent talent, especially as an interior line, but was lacking some coaching and someone who would get the best out of them. I also felt they were good against most DL, but struggled mightily with the best DLs. The only one surprising to me on the NFL roster is Austin, but I did feel if he could make the transition to guard he would have several years in the NFL. Guess I was wrong.
