I understand one not minding masks in the office because you would feel better knowing someone that is sick wearing it but this post indicates that you think that wearing one(standard) protects you. They don't.

Maybe you should graduate from a pediatrician to an adult doctor.

There are other illnesses besides covid. Do you want to breathe after someone with TB?

You clearly need to educate your physician on masks.

I am generally extremely anti mask - however - Of all the places to wear them I don’t have as much of a problem with it at the doctor - especially in a disease ridden waiting room during flu season.

Dr. offices are the only places that should always require a mask. You may have an earache and I may have some nasty arse stomach bug; you won't want what I have at that point.

As I said, if you feel the need to protect someone else if you're sick then wear it but what does a standard/cloth mask protect YOU from?

Also, nobody wore those in offices before Covid.

It should be up to the doctor in my opinion, or I guess whoever owns the actual business. My doctor took mine off in summer of 2020 and threw it in trash can. Said he can’t do a proper assessment if I’m wearing a mask. He never wore one

So you only see a PCP? You don’t ever have to see any other Dr?

Just in the past 2 years I’ve seen my PCP, cardiologist, ENT, dermatologist, PT, etc, I’m seeing a GI Dr next month, I’ve also had scans and MRI’s. Some ask for mask some don’t.

I don’t wear a mask but if the receptionist hands me one I don’t throw a hissy fit

We have to in the waiting room but are good once we go back to the examination room. My doc himself still wears his mask, but he also has an autoimmune disorder.

Doctor’s offices are the one place it doesn’t bother me to wear one honestly. Especially during flu season if I’m seeing my GP but not for the flu.

My wife's coworker has had a cough the last week and she called employee health to come in and get checked, mind you she is at work at a hospital, and employee health said she needed a negative covid test before coming in lol

I don’t know. Wearing a mask in an area where sick are sharing a space seems like a good idea in general. Regardless of covid. crazy I know
