Why would a coach leave if he had Mahomes? The city is a dumpster fire. Do you know how much extra work it takes when you have an average QB versus a QB like Mahomes or Brees in his prime?
SP needed a break. He did great considering the cap space he had.

Payton left because he thought the Dolphins were going to be allowed to get away with stealing him and Tom Brady.

And that is a known fact.

You are correct.

I’ve been excoriated on this board for making that point.

I actually hope he does go to Dallas next year.

He will make a ton of money, but he and Dallas will continue to suck.

You’re fooling yourself if you don’t think he had any involvement in the cap space situation. Sure ML was responsible for getting the guys to fit under the cap, but SP was letting the front office know which guys to go get and keep

SP left when Winston was a FA, so he still had multiple options at QB. But, for the sake of this thread, if there was any resemblance of truth here no one would forget it because there’s a new thread posting here almost weekly. I say almost, because for some reason I don’t think one was started between the Atl & TB game.

Like last year against the giants when Jameis stuck a long TD called back for a hold, and genius SP immediately put in his pet Taysom “has it” Hill who threw an int?

Can you really blame SP for wanting a change of scenery after all those playoff runs ended in such heartbreaking fashion? I don't think it had anything to do with personnel or anyone at the Saints organization. I think he just needed to take a break and start something new

I haven’t posted on this board in a long time because of the cesspool that it has become. These are the facts about Sean Payton. Not opinions. He’s one of the best coaches that’s ever come into this league. He turned probably the laughing joke of the nfl into a perennial playoff contender year in and year out, won championship, he turned Brees from a really good qb to one of the greatest of all time. He’s developed guys like Tony Romo for the people who say he can’t develope qbs as well. He coached here for 14+ fukin years. He left us in a better spot than we could ever dream of. A roster dripping with talent. This city is a cesspool (born here and live here and this place is disgusting). He left cause he was burnt out, wanted a different scenery, said thank you for what we gave him, and you cucks bash him on his way out. Go coach Dallas, if I’m him I’m going to San Diego. And I’ll forever be grateful for what he did here regardless of how awful, dumb, and pathetic our fanbase has become.

He left because he didn't want to get shot while doing everyday tasks

But his dumbass ego won’t let him figure out that it is doing that we are in this boat because he wouldn’t draft a QB and hung on the Brees too long. In a QB rich draft, we end up with tucking Book!!! That is who he thought he could transform into a franchise QB!!!!

I think there’s a lot more to it than that. His new bride is from the East coast and didn’t feel safe living in the hell hole that New Orleans is. Sean Payton was not comfortable for her to roam around the city in its current condition. That’s why he left, and not because of Jameis Winston.

If that's true I change my opinion if Payton. He can rot in the hell below hell for fricking our franchise with 3 quarterback contracts

See how easy it is to make a dumbass statement

That was own fricking doing "kicking the can down the road" to win Brees another Superbowl

It's simple, "he fricked our franchise and cut bait" repeat
