Don’t know if it was 100% accurate but it would explain some of the toxic relationships that developed in the band.
The band went off the rails on the drug train and a lot of it was heroin. Billy was having to pull the wagon by himself quite a bit.
It wasn't just D'arcy (although she was in bad, bad shape there for awhile). James was in pretty bad shape. Jimmy OD'd with the touring keyboard player (Melvoin, Wendy of the Revolution's brother, the inspiration for that excruciating "Arms of the Angels", etc.), the keyboard player died and Jimmy almost died.
Jimmy's job was the only one Billy couldn't do. It was also the easiest to hire out, frankly, when it had to be done.

Billy is a musical genius. Jimmy is an extremely talented musician.
There is a difference.
What did y'all expect from Billy anyway? Music video was right up his alley. It had a train wreck appeal to it, I had to watch it to the end.

Jimmy is one of my all time fav drummers. Some of his stuff on machina was amazing.

OK, the video sucks, but that riff isn't bad at all. It's definitely one of the better sounding tracks of the newer SP stuff. Still, the old magical days are gone.

On another note, where’s the goddam Machina reissue already??

Seeing them Sunday. Never seen them or JA live, hoping it’s a great show.

Jimmy is a better drummer than Billy
I thought you meant Iha. My bad. Too many Jims in the band
Chamberlain is one of the best drummers of the 90s and belongs in the conversation with Danny Carey from Tool and Sean Kinny from AIC (criminally underrated drummer).

And the B sides to the Zero single
Great stuff as are many of their other B sides. Billy is an amazing composer

They're all good, but neither of them is even in the same league as Danny Carey.

like it. I hate arena shows but may go see them with Jane's Addiction.
Going to the Houston show on Monday.
:Can't wait:

Anyone go to the Dallas show tonight? The North American tour kicks off tonight in Dallas and I'll be at the Houston show tomorrow. Sneak peek of the setlist?

The riff sounds like "Eye of the Beholder" from Metallica.

Ok, back from the show. I don't want to ruin in for anyone so I'll be brief. It starts EARLY. Jane's Addiction was on stage for 7:30 and didn't play all that long. They fricking jammed but I was left hoping for another 3 songs. Great show, but too short. If you're late, you'll miss them altogether. Many did last night.
The Pumpkins sounded better than I've ever heard them live. Absolutely bring it down. My only problem is that I really only loved Siamese Dream and that was about 25% of the show. It was great music, great sound, great visual, very very good show.
It was over by 11. I guess all us old fricks need our sleep.

I grew up absolutely loving SP. Even went and saw them in Prague for the Melloncollie tour.
They fell apart during Adore unfortunately. That video was so cheesy I was waiting for some of Billy’s wresting teams to come out and start snapping necks. The video made me think it was the opening credits to his wresting show.
