Is it possible Kayshon just isn’t yet back to where he was before the injury?

I think his attitude issues have been overblown. He’s always hyping up teammates even when he isn’t getting his stats, and while he does get frustrated sometimes, I’ll chalk that up to passion.

Him and Jayden Daniels clearly haven’t been able to find a rhythm yet, and I do think a lot of that is on Jayden, but maybe he’s just not the All-American type playmaker he was before the injury? Whether it be physical or mental I’m not sure. Everyone just expected him to come back and be the same player immediately.

Missing spring ball was big for him

Very well could be the case. That jump ball in the endzone against Florida State is a play I would have expected him to make.

I got a dollar that says KB gets the ball on an end around or some such in the first series Saturday.

boutte has clearly been targetted by the defenses as someone that has to be stopped

so he is a glorified decoy but opens up other receivers

He’s not in sync with his QB. His QB will not change.

I don't think Boutte's performance has anything to do with his ankle injury.. here's how I see it. If I was a first round talent wide receiver and my QB continuously missed me wide open I'd be frustrated and start feeling like my best effort was in vain and give half arse effort for some plays. That must be how he has to feel sometimes. Boutte has been WIDE open many times and Jayden just hasn't seen him. I mean like 30-40 yards upfield nobody within 10 yards of him type wide open. The scramble for a td that gave us our first lead, Boutte went to congratulate Jayden all excited and Jayden didn't seem like he gave a shite, but he had also gotten a little dinged up on that play so I'm probably reading into it too much. Who knows? I think this week's game will be another repeat of Southern and we'll see KB7 touch the ball at least 6-7 times in the first half. I'd love to see him lineup in the wildcat or in the gun next to Daniels. Hopefully Jayden will continue to progress and Boutte will see his efforts translate into TD's instead of missed opportunities.

I think it’s a mixed bag of reasons. He’s probably not quite 100% the guy he was early on last year. As somebody already said, missing spring ball means he’s still short on reps and chemistry with his qb, and the rest is on Daniels not seeing him open. His numbers will improve some, but I think it’s gonna be a long year for him and mostly because I don’t think Daniel’s is going to suddenly develop the ability to stay in the pocket and see the field. They could design plays to get Boutte more touches, but that would be mostly underneath stuff and it makes more sense for those plays to go to nabers. Unfortunately, Boutte’s strength is our QB’s weakness, so his floor is really low week to week. Sucks, bc he’s probably going to lose some upfront nfl money because of it.

Boutte and all the other WR's are wide open most of the time, but the QB can't find them and apparently doesn't want to find them because he's too busy trying to look like Leonard Fournette.

Upcoming SEC Defenses will shut it down. It's coming, so better condition your sensibilities and prepare for it.........

Boutte has been targeted more than any other receiver. Daniels misses Nabers when he is open too but Nabers is also making plays when he gets his opportunity. We need to stop making BS excuses for Boutte.

JD hit him with a game changing TD pass against FSU and he wasn’t looking. On top of that, he doesn’t come down with another game changing grab in end zone.

I don’t fault JD for going to guys who leave out on the field time and time again.

Damn … everyone is wide open most of the time. Those 11 man blitzes are a bitch.

Combination of being rusty, JD not seeing the field and defenses focusing on him. Will take a little more time but I think it will work out.

This is my biggest concern. I hope JD progresses and is able to make reads down field. If not, we’re going to be in trouble.

I dont think Boutte is completely back to form either but a significant issue in this discussion is how many times he is WFO and no pass comes his way. Boutte is not the only one suffering this problem either. It has been discussed at length on the sports talk shows and Kelly has touched on it to.

It is a difficult discussion or teaching point to get him to execute his reads better rather than go with instincts and run.

This is not a bitch but just a comment on Daniels need for growth and develpment. JDs ypa was inly 5.0 this past week.
