It sure was fun to watch a tough, aggressive Defense!

Jay Ward was making play after play, Ojulari was flying around getting sacks, Wingo was stuffing 4th down runs, and Harold Perkins looked like a future All American. It looked like an LSU Defense should look. If this team can continue to play like this, we’re going to make some noise this year.

Can you imagine adding a healthy Maason Smith to that? It’s unbelievable

Harold Perkins is going to be a Tiger who is talked about for many years. But can y’all see the future I see with this young team!!!? We will do fine this season but I’m also excited for the future!

Coach said, “Two good defenses” , not two great defenses. Agreed, defense looked much better and the special teams were good but we were playing a team that was not conditioned properly. What happens when we are faced with a well conditioned team in the second half and our team is playing catch up? I’m hoping we see a turnaround and can start scoring TDs in the first half. I’m like Coach Kelly because I also believe this team can be a good team because of their fight and toughness. I hope we can count on the young men to continue to buy into Kelly’s process. Kelly impresses me in his attention to details. I’m also impressed with our ability to play so many transfers and freshmen and come away with victory. Usually freshmen cause a lot of problems when playing in their first season of college football.

Defense certainly looked better but I think we’re all still criticizing them heavily if it weren’t for a handful of big drops by State receivers.

Liked the defense. One thing I liked about it is how we saw one come up and make a tackle before they got back to the line. To much of the past years we saw a wait till the runner come to me instead of I am coming up to get you.

What, in your opinion, was the reason for those drops? Could not be a good defense, could it? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

One of the drops there was no one within 5 yards of the guy in the middle of the field

Maybe he heard footsteps but we didn't force that drop

Are you insinuating that there weren’t blatant, unforced drops on big downs for State? I would encourage you to re-watch.
