Special teams were an abomination and will lead to more losses

Fielding punts inside the 10 multiple times, jumping on a ball at the end, horrible punt coverage giving State great field position several times, kick out of bounds, etc.

What the hell.

Polian needs to be moved to an analyst position, or at least somewhere where we can hide his deficiencies as a coach better. Great recruiter, not much else

The unnecessary squib kicks as well

Polian is going to cost lsu more games. FSU game should be on his shoulder

All true. The fact we have piss poor KO coverage and return AND punt return and coverage is inexcusable. The muffed punt was terrible and something that should have been coached into our return mens brains.

Hell we want Kayshon involved let him return KOs. Guarantee he will make the opposition pay.

Garbage and hard to watch. The missed tackles on the punt returns have to stop. You stand on the 10 if its over your fricking head you let it go, we arent building a rocket here.

Why do we have lineman as the backfield blockers on punt? We use to have backup linebackers in order to have more athleticism coming down the field to tackle. Now we have frickin linemen back there.

The local media don't help with their softball questions at BK's pressers. I was waiting last night for someone to ask about poor ST play, and they didn't come close.

ST’s were improved compared to FSU. It’s a work in progress. This whole season is a work in progress

I think one mistake by CBK, was not retaining Greg McMahon. Our special teams were always great under him.

We don't know what the punt receiver has been told. He could have been told not to receive a punt inside the 10, or the 5, idk. I do know the special teams guy appears to have someone now who does not drop punts, and I'll accept that improvement, especially since that is something you can never know until a pressure filled game is on the line.

LSU special teams are terrible. From personnel decisions to what they are being taught. They will continue to make mistakes, because they are poorly coached. Brian Polian, he’s the type of guy that was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

I posted this in another thread, so sorry for being repetitive.

It’s possible that, with a new staff and limited practice time per college rules, the coaches shorted special teams practice to try to get a functioning offense and defense. If so, we should see special teams improvement as the year goes on. Then next season they should come to spring practice with a good foundation. It’s going to take a year cycle to get this team coached up.

Anyway, I doubt any of our coaches are bad. Kelly is too good to have poor assistants.

Ah well at least, while Ramos is not Tracy or York, looks like he is rounding into a dependable PK.

Hoping the media will ask Kelly some pointed questions regarding special teams.

Nobody asked anything after game presser. It's like everyone knows special teams is so bad but knows Kelly won't demote him because they are such good BBQ buddies
