Give the good people a chance to reassert control
Unfortunately, today's societal norms have neutered a large majority of the good people. Corrupt and inept leadership positions and backwards social justice initiatives will continue to silence the community who are afraid to be accused of racism or injustice. Only when community outrage finally reaches a boiling point will the good people attempt to confront and triumph over this evil, but it doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon with today's political and social climate.

My wife is born and raised here, but she has finally seen this city is a lost cause!! Problem is we are now living in a Joe Biden Economy and things are not great financially!!

The same thing should happen to the fingers of whoever did that.
This town has a serious trash problem. What may seem like extreme measures to some is the only thing that would strike fear into some of these bastards. Yes- things are that bad- and getting worse.

Fighting the same fight, want to move back to my home town...thought I had her about a year back but she's a city girl changed her mind, thinks she'd be bored out of her mind. I'll keep fighting.
Sometimes, honestly a lot of times - we'll be sitting on our front porch and you can hear sirens, and I tell here...that ain't getting no better.

I don’t know why this thread is still stickied. Not even investigation discussion anymore, just an endless BR bashing.
We get it, it sucks here

No witness to the shooting.
Gun has likely been sold or tossed.
Doesn’t seem to be any video evidence.
Doesn’t matter if the reward is $1 million, without evidence no one will be convicted.
It’s sad, and hearing that opinion will anger some people, but it’s pretty clear it’s a dead end. Family will never see justice.

Cops, DA, local media, politicians and the general public apathetic toward heinous crime. Oh well, nothing to see here. Move along.
Pathetic

If you’d pay attention, you will see there are patterns with the crime. Yesterday a teenager was shot in killed in the same neighborhood blocks away. What are the odds that murder and Rice’s murder have overlapping circles of the criminal element? May not be the same the same killer, but the same groups of kids or gangs. Someone knows something.
Take down Rice’s killer or killers, who knows what other crimes might be impacted.

Sorry, it’s a sad reality. You can arrest a person this afternoon with the murder weapon in his possession, but without any evidence linking him to the crime he’ll walk. Unless they’re holding back something important, they don’t appear to have an eyewitness or video evidence. If they were able to get prints or dna from the spent cartridges, you still can’t place them at the scene of the crime.
Solving cases like this often involve lots of luck. Little over 3 years ago a student at South Carolina mistakenly got into a car after partying, thinking it was the Uber she’d called, and disappeared. Only evidence they had was video of her getting in the car.
Guy brutally murdered her, drove over 70 miles away and dumped her body in the woods in a remote area. Luckily some turkey hunters found her body the next day or so, if not there’s no telling how long before she was found.
Police at least had video of the car, stopped him a couple nights later trolling the same area. Car was full of her blood, he still had her cellphone, and they found his dna on her. Easy conviction.
Family was lucky, they at least got closure. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see the La girl’s family getting that same closure. It’s sad, they truly have my greatest sympathy, but unless police get extraordinarily lucky they’re never going to get a conviction, much less even charge someone. It isn’t like watching a tv show, random murders go unsolved all the time.

I keep hearing "I'm getting out of BR".
Where are you going that this isnt happening. I lived in Dallas from 1993-2010. It was going on there everyday back then.
I moved back to Monroe....its the same.
The criminals run the cities now......not sure where is a good spot.

The difference is the police now aren’t even trying to solve crimes. That’s a pretty important distinction IMO

Places like Naples, Florida? Not big cities with people living off of the government and drug deals.
