Unfortunately there aren't any. There was no physical evidence at the scene to generate any suspects. The witness was able to corroborate the timeline, but has no identifying information about who they saw. BRPD is planning on making a hail mary and trying to subpoena cell phone records, but assuming that's even granted you are looking at 3-6 months minimum for that data to come back. And when it does come back, historically the area the crime occurred will probably have 60-70% prepaid burner phones that won't trace back to an address or individual

People need to realize this isn't TV or Movies. Somebody with a PC can't just download cell phone data, click a few buttons, and get a list of where everybody was on a map at the time of the shooting. This is only getting solved one way, somebody in the community has to come forward. If that never happens, this isn't getting solved

Spot on. This has all the makings of a cold case. You all can harass Broome all you want. It doesn’t change the fact that no evidence at the scene or worthwhile witness exists.

So your suggestion tigersec2010 is to do nothing?

…you have time to post on tigerdroppings…time to prematurely call this a cold case….time to say there is nothing special about this case (on a prior post of yours) time to discourage others from calling the mayors office to demand our city do better.

You don’t have time to email or call and demand they do better? I guess you don’t vote either because what’s the point? This is why things don’t change.

It is a fact that somebody knows something - somebody will eventually slip up and say something if they have not already. Unfortunately, our administration needs constant reminding that they are doing a sh*t job running this city. Constant reminding to bust their a** to solve this. The very least you can do is write a frickin email.

This is not the typical homicide. If people here need to explain to you why this case is special then I feel sorry for you.

I think the feds lending resources will help for sure. I know most people hate the FBI but they do have access to technology and resources that most local departments don’t and technology for these things advance every day. I’m hoping there is a chance this will be solved by either technology or someone talks eventually. I think one of those two will happen.

I’ll add that I’m not overly familiar with every facet of this case. I thought I remembered that there was casings found at the scene.

It’s possible they are doing geofence warrants on the area at that time. Even if it’s a burner phone and no name associated with it. I’d say if these were younger perpetrators there is a high probability that there was social media on these phones, that other calls and texts were made so LE will work backwards from that point. I do know that those warrants take time and are difficult to get because it’s a privacy issue. I do believe that the laws were changed to help LE out within the past few years but I may be misremembering that.

I’d say just have some faith that this is Solved and these animals are put away. But if it goes for a long period of time then start raising hell. Nothing wrong with questioning local departments and letting them know this isn’t just going to go away though.

Just watched a segment on This Week on ABC about Chicago crime. Same liberal talking points that we heard from the Mayor and BR Police Chief. “We can’t arrest our way out of the problem”, we need to focus on programs, gangs are the problem, we will be focusing on high crime areas etc. We are getting played folks.

When we elected a nee mayor things changed dramatically.
Cops were placed on the defensive. There was a shortage already, but then it got worse as the mayor threw the blue under the bus.
Then she closed down BRAVE an effort to take down the gangs. The murder rate skied, and this town got rougher. That trend has continued.

Now they blame social issues, food desserts, Covid or the floods; but the truth is it’s the culture and the gangs that push that culture that is taking BR down. Until we start attacking the gangs and freeing these neighborhoods that they dominate it going to get more and more bloody.

This.

Why do people want to sit back and just trash BR without being part of the solution? I’m not going to sit back and let our city turn into Chicago without putting up a fight.

Speaking of.. where can I find a flyer with the reward for Allie? I’m going to print out a few dozen and drop them out of my window when driving through north BR. We need culture to see them and they won’t see them on TV or on a Nicholson Drive light pole.

Kiran, by default. roasted the BRPD and the chief in particular in her coverage of the man who overdosed, and the subsequent drug bust of his dealer

The fact that they mentioned that actual solution in their response and went out of the way to say that’s not the solution is peak clown world shite.

It makes it even more frustrating.

Not sure. It was at $50k before recent fundraisers and donations.

Last number I heard was $50k by private donors and an extra $5k from crime stoppers.

There is a dinner for $100 at the Shed BBQ on Thursday with half of the proceeds going to the Allie Rice memorial fund. Also, donations can be made at any citizens bank for those who feel called to help.

There is a Live like Allie Facebook page that everyone can follow for various updates.

You can't change a culture overnight. You either live with it or move where it doesn't exist. In a singular lifetime the latter is your best choice.

No, you can't.

But, you can eradicate enough of them to scare them back into the dark and make them fearful of coming into the light.

Give the good people a chance to reassert control while the evil cower.
